@IanLevine Such sad news, and such a great loss. She was an amazing singer. I still have my vinyl 12-inch of Hi Energy, which I bought way back when it was first released. I've never been able to find that 12-inch version on CD, only the 7-inch version.
@nealasher Ah, the arrogance and sheer stupidity of youth. Barely out of nappies, and he thinks he knows everything. He could be the smartest 22 year-old on the planet, but he still hasn't lived long enough to have gained the necessary experience of life and the job he's doing.
Very interesting night on Film4 for fans of sci-fi movies. Started off with Star Trek (2009), now watching Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), then Dredd (2012), and finally finishing off with Dune (1984). That one doesn't end until 3:30am, so I might not last that long. :)
@moment_mirthful @MattWallace888 How much is that painting worth, and she just destroys it??? Twenty years in the slammer would cure the bitch of her activism and make an example of her to other would-be vandals. These animals need to be slapped down hard. They get away with blue murder.
@nealasher What a shower of wankers. The Tories are the same, as are the Lib-Dems, Farage and his lot, and, indeed, all politicians. The current class of professional politician is a parasitical group of lying, greedy freeloaders who live off the taxpayer while despising them. Total Scum.
I received this one from Amazon UK yesterday. A lovely wee hardback book plus 5CD boxset, absolutely crammed with great American punk rock music. All you cool cat punks and punkettes really should grab this ASAP.

@TheMekon_Venus@RetroAmateur Likewise. For many years, Doctor Who was the only reason that I even watched the BBC. That is no longer the case. The show has been awful since Capaldi finished. There is NOTHING that I watch on the BBC now. So why should I be forced to continue paying the vile TV Licence tax?
@LindaNagata You disappeared for a bit, but I'm so glad you came back to give us the Inverted Frontier books and other fantastic stories. When some idiot says "Women can't write hard SF", I always give a long list to prove them wrong. And your name is always the first one out of my mouth.
@LindaNagata I've been following your work for years, since way back when you first published the Nanotech Succession books. I think we were both on the classic Compuserve SFLIT forum at the time, so that's going back to the late-90s or early-Noughties. A long time.
@FinishedZine At home, on BBC One, when it first aired. Alone. That's how I prefer to watch stuff, with nobody around to ruin things and provide distractions/interruptions by yapping or moving around during the broadcast. Didn't buy the VHS and novel till later, and the DVD even later.
@D_Fens_Ghost The shape of both of them. Looks like they've pulled this stunt quite a few times. Fat bastards should be put on an enforced long starvation diet. Staple their stomachs and sew their mouths shut.
@nealasher What else would you expect from the BBC/Disney, the top purveyors of "progressive" crap? DW is nothing but a woke propaganda vehicle now for RTD's queer/trans wet dreams. And he was supposed to save it after the awful Chibnall/Whittaker era. It's utter garbage now. Unwatchable.
@straczynski Unforgettable memoir. I bought this in hardcover when it first came out. I couldn't put it down. Very hard-hitting, parts of it were like a real kick in the gut. I didn't realise that there was so much about JMS that I didn't know.
@HenrykMatysiak2@jk_rowling@billybragg "Progressive Male Class Warrior" aka the biggest shower of sanctimonious, self-righteous, misogynistic beta male cucks on Planet Earth.
@Lou_Jameson Except for the law, these creatures would be more than capable of killing people, and enjoying it immensely. Bloodthirsty, no empathy, no compassion, no conscience, no morals. "Upper class"? Absolute vermin. The parasitical dregs of society, born into wealth by sheer accident.
