@abcdiagnosis@ExOncTc@WellnessLabUofC Great question! PAACT participants get 12-weeks of take-home exercise programs & some home-equipment. They are also provided with other resources (ongoing studies like #AlbertaCancerExercise (ACE) and programs through @WellnessLabUofC) to help them continue to be active!
@DrNicolasHart@ExOncTc@WellnessLabUofC@csep Thanks for your comment! In terms of inclusion into the study, patients are recommended for this program based on physician (myeloma oncologist) clearance. Our certified exercise professionals then tailor the exercise prescription accordingly. Hope that answers your question!
@ExOncTc@WellnessLabUofC 6/6 There is potential for PA to be implemented as a supportive care tool for patients with #advancedcancer. Using a Knowledge Translation framework, research in this population will support the feasibility of introducing PA into their complex cancer care plan! #ExOncTC
@ExOncTc@WellnessLabUofC@UCalgary@uofcknes @UCalgaryFGS 6/6 This is the first research to implement and evaluate a community-based exercise program for lung cancer survivors in Alberta. L-ACE is tailored to lung cancer symptom burden, designed around referral logistics, and has the potential to improve survivor outcomes. #ExOncTC
