Kids starting to get bored? Why not take the opportunity to share whānau stories. Not only is it a lovely way to connect, research tells us that elaborative reminiscing has significant benefits for children’s language and socioemotional skills.

Apparently, 43% of us think children can share and take turns before they turn 2, and when they can't they're punished or labelled as selfish. In fact, this skill develops between 3 to 4 years. Let's not rush pēpī to the next stage of development.
