Thereโs a seat at every table.
But most people never take it - they wait to be invited.
You donโt need permission.
You need presence.
Sit down and prove why you belong.
Whether I'm drinking coffee or not...
Starting your day with the smell of fresh-brewed coffee is humbling and motivating.
It's a trigger for the mind that "This new day starts now."
We focus youth to master the fundamentals of their swing
But forget to teach to master the control of their body
Control your body -> Master your swing
2025 โ I'm on a mission to restore my health.
I'm creating a personal health book that reflects what matters most to me and includes a grocery list.
Having a simple, go-to read is important - a reminder of why I choose to eat certain things.
Start with 1-2 small habits.
Even if you fail at them, keep working on them until you succeed.
However, don't add more habits until you've succeeded with the first 1-2.
2 habits I'm working on:
1 - eating fruits/vegetables
2 - drinking fruits/vegetables
If I'm hungry - I eat fruit.
If I want something warm, I eat vegetables (because I like my vegetables cooked with spices).
Tomorrow, I'm unboxing the juicer.
Coaches, remember this:
You're not just teaching them how to grow individually.
You're showing them how to help others grow.
You are the foundation for how theyโll build their teams professionally in the future.
Sometimes, while getting gas, I realize that everyone around me won't be here one day.
No matter what we do or drive, it all feels insignificant in the grand scheme.
So, I remind myself to:
1. Be kind.
2. Greet someone and wish them a great day.
You never know who needs to feel seen.
Talent and hard work matterโbut social capital matters more.
The right connections can open doors skills alone never will.
Build it. Share it. Leverage it.
As a baseball coach, I always tell my players that if they can show me in practice that I can count on them in a game, I'll give them the opportunity.
For example, if a player wants to become a catcher or shortstop but isn't currently in that position, Iโll give them a shot.
Previous coaches may have just written them off, but when you give players the chance to prove themselves, youโd be amazed at how quickly their effort and performance improve.
You have the chance to figure it out.
A chance that others may never get.
But you do. Itโs yours.
Now, take action.
Not just for you, but for the one who would give anything to have the chance youโve got to make it happen.
Show up.
Show up because there's a chance.
A chance that TODAY is the day everything changes.
A chance to win, to land that job or promotion, to meet your soulmate, to take control of your life - whether itโs getting sober, shedding that weight, or chasing your dreams.
Show up.
Because nothing happens if you donโt.
@JeffreyWShapiro That happens to people who get behind me.
I walk slowly to see what's new on the shelves and I'm a label reader once I find something that catches my interest.
"God, guide me to become who I need to be to receive the blessings youโve prepared."
Delayed gratification ensures that when you achieve your goals, you have the skills to maintain and grow them.
God's delay is a form of His protection.
I align ambition with action.
Mike Tyson said, "God will give you what you ask for to see if you can handle it."
On the other hand, "God wants to answer your prayers, but waits until you're ready."
So, I pray...
March 2025 Habit Goal:
Break each day into hourly segments and stay as committed to the process as possible.
Do this until I reach 90% + in reliability of this habit.
