A marquee episode of Talking Snooker for you. Phil and Nick have been joined by a bonafide great in John Higgins. We knew this would be good, but it genuinely surpassed all our expectations and we can't wait to hear what you think.

Ken Doherty joined Phil and Nick on the podcast in 2023 and was in typically entertaining form.
Ken's Alex Higgins line on George Best is worth the admission price on its own.

Ken Doherty announces his retirement from professional snooker after 36 years on tour.
A brilliant career.
He admits his final goal is now out of reach.

'Q School does play an important role, but there are other ways of doing it.'
Spoke to Jason Ferguson about the future of Q School. It's under review but an important role must remain.
Also a brief update on the WPBSA EGM last month.

One first time professional after his 14th crack at Q School, two bounce straight back onto tour and the Storm secures a fourth stint.
Liam Davies looked good on the streamed table. Still huge potential at 19.

‘People around you don’t really understand, people are like, “why are you still chasing? What are you doing?”
‘You’ve got to tell yourself you’re still young enough in the game of snooker and you’ve got to trust your own ability. If you don’t do it, who else will?’
'You see one of your mates you beat in practice do really well and you think, "why can't that be me?" But that's what keeps the dream alive and pumping.'
Pleasure to chat to @philokane147 about outside the pro game.
He's back for a 14th crack at Q School

Panchaya Channoi beats Reanne Evans 6-2 to win the Women's World Championship.
Really impressive from the 18-year-old. Two centuries in the final and a nerveless 59 in the last frame.
Beat Bai and Mink along the way and will get a tour card. What a few days for her!
Ronnie O'Sullivan adds another trophy to his collection at the Snooker 900 Global Championship.
The Rocket calls for a Snooker 900 tour and reckons there would be a lot of interest.

The World Women's Championship is in its new home at the Snooker Sports Arena in Changping.
The new arena is only in a temporary set-up for this event. The plan is for 350 tables by next year and eventually 1,000 in a huge snooker hub.

I'm often accused of pontificating on issues - and let's be clear, it's sometimes a fair charge.
So rather than me rattle on with my views, let's bring our old friend democracy into the game.
Do you think it's right that Ronnie O'Sullivan is in the field for the World Seniors?
Many thanks for listening to the podcast throughout this season, and for all the kind words you've said about our work.
We will now be taking our traditional annual break, and will return with our summer season of episodes in June.

I am pleased to say that @philhaigh_ and I will once more team up with @davehendon to bring you a Snooker Podcast Summer Special.
Very much in the spirit of the old Summertime Specials on the BBC.
If it helps, you can think of us as 'The Three Roys' - Castle, Hudd, Walker.
'I think I'm good enough. I've never been one to kid myself, but if I wasn't capable of winning a ranking event, even now, I wouldn't even be in Q School.'
Spoke to Rob Milkins at the Crucible as he looks to save his career this month.
