@ovailias I do this. Not cause I'm bored or don't care, but because if there's even a slight distraction my mind will create an entire irrelevant scenario about it and I'm stuck staring at the bored for 10mins until someone breaks me out of it lmao.
@MetroidTheorist I absolutely agree. I'm not interested in runs that just skip everything. I like to watch the optimizations people practice for. Movement, boss knowledge, and knowing what to pick up and what to ignore. Glitches are absolutely fine imo, just not when they leave no game up be seen
@MetroidTheorist I understand you. Some of these glitches are very difficult. The one glitch I never use and wont even bother to use is the Bombuhey Axis Skew. People use it to go through walls and bypass doors. It's extremely difficult and I also don't want to skip THAT much of the game.
@MetroidTheorist Yep, I normally grab Scew Attack right after Speed Booster using the frame advance short boost. The method shown in this video I use for Dread Mode since it saves me from having to visit cold rooms with a lot of nasty enemies. It's also very fun lol.
What's your Top 3 tracks from the Metroid series? I'm very curious.
My Top 3 are:
Torvus Bog - Metroid Prime 2
Brinstar - Metroid NES
Crateria - Super Metroid
Sanctuary Fortress as an honorable mention.
@ovailias Same here. I just picked it back up recently to get back into speedruns. I'm only doing Any% Dread Mode runs, though. Trying to get 0 deaths. A few of my friends and I are competing to see who can do it first. It's been a few months and my best is 11 deaths.
I've heard Metroid fans say Sylux's hatred for the Galactic Federation and Samus was the result of one bad day. I don't think so, and I think this claim fails to really look into the secret ending of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. There's a lot more to it. I need to make a video.
