What is Biomass heating? 🧵

Biomass simply refers to ‘biological mass’. That means derived from biological sources and often (but not always) in terms of renewable heating this means wood, either in log, chip or pellet form.

Selective thinning of managed woodland will both allow material to harvested for construction (locking the CO2 in buildings etc) as well as free the rest of the woodland up to absorb carbon more effectively. The waste product of this harvesting can then be used for biomass.
