One of her passions is singing & told she can’t join choir every year we’ve been here. I bet you can figure out why she sings this song. #Exclusion#Autism#Oregon#Education Make it make sense. I have her permission to share. Make it go viral. This has to end.

Lost 40 lbs, retiring early this month,
& leaving the state of #Oregon soon. It’s time to take that garbage out for good. Discovered Pilates, going to more live music & am excited to keep more positive trends going!

@WalshFreedom For the umpteenth time in the last three election cycles, I find myself asking, “This is what we have to choose from? This is the best two political parties in a country of 360 million people can cough up?”
Well I feel pretty stupid... I try to keep up in all the news y'all need to have about education, but this slid by and I missed it.
Were you aware the SAT is not only digital now, it's ADAPTIVE?
That means it adjusts the difficulty of the questions based on how you're doing. So if you're doing very well they can adapt it on the fly to make your questions much harder than the kid sitting next to you who's doing poorly.
I just read a letter from a father whose oldest took the paper test and scores 1480, but the younger kids (twins) who have 4.0 GPAs at a selective private school scored 1150 and 1160 respectively. They also reported noticing the questions getting harder and harder on the second half of the test.
The college board is not hiding this. They are proud of it.
What's astounding is they only address the notion of being penalized for easier questions, not harder, when clearly it's harder to get a question right if your questions are harder, and the point of the test is not to "tailor it" to your abilities but to assess your abilities! It is supposed to sort students to see who's ready for college level work. It is NOT a means of achieving equal or more "fair" outcomes.
They spend a lot of time arguing that assessing the same knowledge, thus giving some students easier questions doesn't make the test harder for kids getting harder questions.
In a word: bullshit. Knowledge includes level of difficulty. There's not an easy and a hard way to ask about a topic that results in the SAME knowledge being tested. That they think we'd believe that is insulting.
The SAT is clearly not an objective test.
Do NOT apply to schools that use the SAT. Find a school using the @CLT_Exam instead.

@MrDanielBuck My district has 3 superintendent level employees dedicated to SEL and DEI stuff. Meanwhile, all of the schools have multiple fundraising activities during the year for playground equipment and copy paper. Ridiculous.
School staffing has ballooned while enrollment has plummeted.
Cut every district administration in half, and give that money directly to teachers instead...
@CraigVanbebber@Beanie0597 I want the best public schools possible as well. I grow weary of having to follow ed research/best practices to help my dyslexic son. I crave the mental relief that would come from sending him to the local school with his friends for cutting edge education.
@CraigVanbebber@edmom603@Beanie0597 No they don’t. They grind parents to a nub & don’t even know those laws, rules & statutes & they hope you don’t either.
@CraigVanbebber@Beanie0597 Do you honestly think public schools play by the rules? They just use taxpayer money to hire big law firms to help blur lines of the laws. Public schools are just really great at 💨🪩.
Yes! 90% of the time no return emails phone calls. They stuffed my kid into a library 4 days wo a teacher & didn’t tell us & administrators took more than a dozen trips out of district/state. #Oregon is in the bottom 10 in #Education. No accountability
