Loved how it captures the best of 16 bit shmups (which I guess is naturally given its developer pedigree and the fact it was developed for mega drive hardware). A strong entry in a genre with a rich heritage (and many legendary entries)
@ColdNightsGami1 Blazing Blade is the ultimate comfort game for me. While there’s plenty of entries in the series that do individual elements better than it, I do still think it’s the best overall package.
@broodwars64 Interesting. It’s funny - I tried playing the original game immediately after completing Ty the Tasmanian Tiger (which I found a lot easier to get into).
@ColdNightsGami1 I’m in the camp that thinks it has some of the best maps and gameplay mechanics of the series. I still prefer the pre-Awakening artsyle and the narrative/writing of those older games.
