Two more of our @Galesburg_HS interns in action. Thank you to Galesburg Police Department and Dovetail, Rivet and Stitch for working with our students.
Look at some of our interns out learning from several Galesburg business leaders. Thank you Skinner and Skinner, Quick Sam’s and Bruner, Cooper and Zuck for allowing these students to learn from you.
Week one of e-learning completed. My students were amazing through this first week. I also want to give a shout out to the adults who came in at the end of a lesson to help their kids maneuver the technology. We can’t do it without you. @GalesburgHS@CUSD205
My students rocked their first day of online learning. Even with the internet dropping in and out during the storms they stayed with it. Thank you for a great first day. You rock. @GalesburgHS@CUSD205
As stated in 12 Rules to Life . . . “How do you react when you don’t get what you want out of life? Do you automatically feel the world is unfair or that it’s someone else’s fault? Or do you honestly question your own methods, accepting that you still have something to learn?”
One of my favorite quotes from “12 Rules of Life” is Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street. . . Life is not just about the struggle—there’s wonder in it too.
Another quote from”12 Rules for Life” nobody can have a meaningful conversation if the goal of the conversation is only to get the other person to accept your ideology. . .Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don’t.
Quoted from “12 Rules For Life”. Before you go off and take on the ordeal of making the world a better place, remember to SET YOUR HOUSE IN PERFECT ORDER BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE THE WORLD.
@casas_jimmy I did just that today when the link on the assignment I shared for today suddenly became blocked by the firewall. I told the students they won the daily lottery and had no assignment to do for tomorrow.
#ThoughtForTheDay The real assistance we can provide students who are struggling academically is to not feel the need to “rescue” them right away, but accepting that it is okay to let them struggle before intervening. #LiveYourExcellence
#ThoughtForTheDay Look & Listen to gauge the wellness of your culture? Look-In a good culture staff members treat each other well. Listen-In an excellent culture, they also speak well of each other. What are we doing for others & what are we saying about them? #LiveYourExcellence
If you think its overrated to give your best effort and it’s “just a practice” or “just a drill”...ask the 1,000s of College Seniors who went to bed last night not knowing that they’d played their final game.
The biggest lie we tell ourselves is that we’ve got time.
