...annnnd in checking it, I see headlines that indicate the transit tax was shot down. Because of course. It is encouraging to see the development on the high speed front all the more then.
High speed rail in Tampa (Round II - The Private Sector Approach) seems far more certain now than ever before. Keep in mind, if the timing, and the outcome of that transit tax question, work out -- the streetcar by then will largely consist of modern cars. Will look sharp (e)!
Ladies and gentleman, *TAMPA* (not "Hillsborough") Light Rail! Congratulations! The streetcar people would probably tell me to relax, it's still a streetcar system, of course. But when actualized in a modern framework, the streetcar system will be a serious transit network.
We are so excited to announce @GoHART is the recipient of a $67.3 million @MyFDOT_Tampa grant for the Streetcar Extension and Modernization project! This is the LARGEST single transit award in #TampaBay history! This is the state's match required for Federal funding.
To my voted-for-Trump Tampa Railing independents, Mike is your man. To my *thinking* Democrat and Republican Tampa Railers, Mike is your man. He may sting a little on the end you aren't but he's strong on the center YOU ARE. #MikeBloomberg#Bloomberg2020
I rode BART today to Oakland, CA. I’m a big believer in public transport & its ability to reduce our carbon footprint. That’s why I’m making investing in public transportation a centerpiece of my strategy for cutting U.S. carbon pollution by 50% by 2030. https://t.co/lpm3Lernyz
The Tampa Rail Twitter feed is not about porch pirates. BUT, since I accidentally started a thread to this audience, and since I made a sarcastic remark about how police were handling it, I will end with this link that explains the trouble police had. - https://t.co/bI6rOQX8Cf
@WFLA Too bad that delivery companies have a policy of deleting all information about the people they hire, just after they are hired. As well, all digital records of which driver handled a delivery. That way police wouldn't have to depend on someone from the public recognizing them.
As Tampa City rises, old school thoughts on its new-found success are resulting in unexpected casualties. The downtown living and car-free lifestyle cultures are booming while movie theaters still close. - https://t.co/7YDb6ZJTuy
Last January the TECO Line Streetcar re-launched its decade old website. The new site is a beautiful and strong representation of today's emerging line. It also masterfully integrates its live map and includes links to the matching mobile app. More to say at TR on all this.
Whoops -- I mis-read the map key. The TIA SkyConnect system, at least at the time I'm looking at it, only includes scheduled tracking, not tracking based on GPS. Sorry for jumping that gun!
It is worth mentioning that OneBusAway Tampa includes mapped live GPS tracking of the SkyConnect Train system, the airport's rail network (and Tampa's second living transit rail operation). - https://t.co/sW2Zgryy7o
