A Minnesota-based reporter laid out something most of the country still doesn’t grasp: the state’s fraud exposure isn’t a side story anymore, it’s the story—and Minnesota Democrats are still campaigning on the sanitized version.

Here’s what that sanitized version leaves out. Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson has said the real fraud exposure could run $𝟗 𝐭𝐨 $𝟏𝟎 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 out of $18 billion spent across 14 state programs since 2018—meaning as much as half the money handed out may never have reached a real recipient (𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘦).

Congress has already put names on it. A House Oversight Committee report titled “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨” concludes Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison let the fraud metastasize for years. The flagship case, Feeding Our Future, is what federal prosecutors called 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐃-𝟏𝟗 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲—operators billed taxpayers for meals that were never served, to children who were never there.

The FBI says another alleged healthcare fraudster accused of stealing more than $500 million from American taxpayers is now in custody.

Federal investigators say Khalid Sartori was the mastermind behind the massive fraud scheme that provided expensive genetic cancer tests that patients didn't need.

He is the third "Most Wanted" suspect captured since the FBI launched its Most Wanted Healthcare Fraud list just one month ago.
