Today marks six months since I started working as an #SLT and there is much to celebrate π NQP goals nearly complete β LSVT training started β leading on dysphagia assessments β varied community caseload including #stroke#PD#voice β and Iβm enjoying every minute #MySLTDay
Lots achieved during my first two months working as an #SLT - started my RCSLT NQP goals β started my dysphagia competencies β started my preceptorship β and have my own growing caseload β #MySLTDay#NQP
Yesterday marked my first month working as an #SLT. Iβve learnt loads and have loved meeting patients and being able to support them with their communication. Imposter syndrome has been very real though and has reminded me yet again how important self-care is.
@CR_futureSLT I completely echo Helenβs comments. I was trying to juggle a lot personally during my final year at uni and even contemplated dropping out at the end of last year as I struggled to cope with everything that life was throwing at me. Being honest and open with my personal advisor,
@CR_futureSLT me. My main thing I have learnt over the last year or so is that I canβt support anyone if I havenβt looked after myself. Iβm so sorry that youβre having to go through what you are. Take care of yourself.
@CR_futureSLT getting in touch with the wellbeing service at uni, deferring exams, and asking for deadlines to be extended helped to keep me on the course. I tried to take the pressure off myself - I aimed for done rather than perfection - and made sure I took the time I needed to look after
Rare non-work tweet. Super proud of @TamsonSLT for graduating with first class honours from @uniofeastanglia and for being awarded the prize for best overall academic performance.

Excited - and also a bit scared - to have been offered a B5/6 development post with my old team π₯³ I cannot believe that Iβm nearly an #SLT!! Just a deferred phonetics exam to sit next week and Iβm done! #SLT2B#MySLTDay
Today I am testing out the hypothesis that drinking lots of tea from my #phonetics mug will help me to remember everything that I need to know for my deferred phonetics exam in a few weeks. #SLT2B#MySLTDay
βοΈβοΈπ½βοΈπΏβοΈπΌβοΈπΎIf you supported @RCSLT's #SwallowAware2024 yesterday, you can now help to support better lives for people with eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties, and their families, by signing and sharing @MikeysWish_VDA's #InvestInSLT petition.

And today was the last day of my paediatric placement! I was given so many opportunities and made to feel such a part of the team. I loved every second of it. Now just a presentation to prepare, a dissertation to write, and a deferred phonetics exam to sit! #SLT2B
First week of my paediatric placement done. Spent the morning planning sessions for next week and getting my bag of toys sorted. Excited to see what the rest of placement brings. #SLT2B#MySLTDay
