Our website is up! But it’s a work in progress! I can’t promise I won’t tinker with the guidelines before April 1st. But have a look! https://t.co/mfJz1kgORn.
Are you too a sunflower melting in the summer heat? If so, it’s likely you’ve been cursed and birds will soon peck your face. Before that happens, send some poems our way for issue 2. All details on the website.
to lower itself. I’m just saying don’t award prizes to writing published in this magazine anymore; demote it on merit- and prestige-based litmag rankings; treat it the way it has shown it should be treated - as a lower-tier publication. - 5/5 #keepyouraioutofmylitmag#noai
as a wholesome food source. This should be the province of lower-grade writing published in outlets that have abandoned all pretense of championing traditional, artisanally-crafted writing. Yale Review has lowered itself. I’m not saying it doesn’t have the right … 4/5🧵
just because it makes overcoming certain writing hurdles a bit easier or faster. I don’t want margarine fed to me as if it were butter - it’s not. And even if I can’t taste the difference, I don’t want to feed my body on an industrial byproduct masquerading ... - 3/5🧵
It amounts to proud participation in the erosion of the integrity of the literary artform they have historically platformed. I will not submit my work to or follow or otherwise have anything to do with litmags that openly embrace “playing” with the AI monster … 2/5🧵
This is a sad day. I will not unfollow or cease to be friends with anyone who uses AI for what I consider to be legitimate reasons - for example, physical/mental limitations combined with a lack of support or resources. But there is no reason for Yale Review to do this… 1/5🧵
Apologies to those I’ve haven’t sent notes to saying the journal is published. This is the only platform I’m updating on right now despite Facebook and Instagram existing. I’m overwhelmed with some medical stuff at the moment. Suns open again next week and I’m not ready.
I probably should not have announced this at almost 11pm last night but I was determined to have it up on the solstice. So I’ll just share it more today! Issue 1 is here!
It's late, but here we are. Issue 1 of The Tanasi River Review is LIVE. Thank you all for your submissions, and for trusting me with your work. I hope you enjoy the issue. Here's to many more... https://t.co/d8c0L4uLpD

@brecht_dp@susipjensen@Duotrope Definitely better info on submission opportunities. There’s a handful of Facebook groups I posted in, and suddenly for the first issue, with basically no marketing on my end, I had 300 in a month. I can see going forward that I’ll likely have to narrow the submission window.
I have finished sending out the last of the responses. A lot of great work submitted for issue one. Thanks to all who sent poems this way. Issue one digital (and hopefully in print) at the end of June, and we’ll get this bird off the ground.
