With this course, I found out the privilege I have which I never thought about. Also the less privilege some of the people experience. Having the awareness of this always help us to understand the clients and ourselves which help us to deliver client-centred practice.

After knowing about the things happening in the Claymore, I understand how environmental factors contribute individualsβ occupation. Itβs interesting that people think poverty are poor because they are βLazyβ, but never relize social context they in stop them to change. #OENV18
As an occupational therapist, We should always have the awareness about our own values and the power we have. Itβs very important to power-sharing with the client and not using our values on them. #OENV18
For example, My culture value family, group, society or even the country as a whole instead of individualism. It's also highlight what is the individual roles and what these roles can contribute to the family, group or society. #OENV18
For example, they disabled by the built environment, people prejudice and the culture and rules which come from ideology such as Neoliberalism. I believe that the Occupational therapist should help them to become "able" in the society and engage in occupations. (2/2) #OENV18

The content this week makes me learning the historical culture of western countries/society which is different from my culture. It makes me reflect how my culture as Marco level factors impact my occupations. Itβs interesting to explore and I an amazed by the difference. #OENV18
Itβs a great opportunity to hear what social occupational therapist do is Brazil! After the workshop, I realised the difference between working with individual and community. There are so many environmental factors need to be considered as a social occupational therapist. #OENV18
Homeless people experience occupational injustice not only because they have physical or mental unwellness, but also the discrimination from others. In America, the country value independent, it might be hard for them to rejoin the society and be occupational wellbeing. #oenv18
However, my father only took his phone with him but not any bank cards and pay all the things by phone when I back to my country at the start of this years. He also thinks pay by phone is safer now, because he don't need to worry about losing his cards. οΌ2/2οΌ

People will shift their occupations or the engagement of the same occupation when the environment is change. I want to share a story of my father. Few years before, my father thought to link a bank account to an app and pay by the phone is not safe at all. (1/2)

Homeless people also have their right to engage in the occupations they want and live a meaningful life. The Occupational Therapists in Century Villages at Cabrillo try to spread Occupational justice around homeless people and help them back to the society one day.#OENV18
