@JDR_Industries "Splendid. Our cover story is finalized, and, hopefully, airtight. They will be led to believe the anomaly is agitated by human presence, and will be advised to keep personnel in the area to a minimum."
@SheriffCHuxley "I have decades of time to cover with you," he says, with a chuckle. "Stories of worlds and people beyond our wildest dreams. Novelists the world over would kill for an opportunity like mine."
@SheriffCHuxley The doorknob rattles gently, and the door swings open. Immediately, the room feels brighter. Warmer.
He steps in, regarding Caitlyn with his usual electric gaze. His shine, his colors have faded. His coat is worn. Threadbare.
"Your survival was never in doubt."
@SheriffCHuxley He glances down at himself.
"This warrants an... overhaul, I believe. From my perspective, I'm well overdue," he says, with a chuckle.
"Besides, witnessing the technology of other worlds has granted... inspiration."
@SheriffCHuxley "...I see."
He seems to follow her gaze. "If Demacia is host to such unrest, gaining access may prove... difficult." He turns to Caitlyn. "The fact remains... I am a living weapon. One fueled by /magic,/ no less."
@SheriffCHuxley For a moment, she sees the light in his eyes fade. An almost unnoticeable event that she knows indicates shock.
"King Jarvan... is dead?"
@SheriffCHuxley "..." His antennae bristle. "For Joyce's sake, let's hope for leniency."
He shifts from one foot to the next. A decidedly human habit, and one he adopted.
"So... aside from all of this," he gestures to the room. "...What have I missed?"
@SheriffCHuxley "Perhaps."
"We insist on no military escort, for their own safety. We are highly-trained professionals, fully prepared to deal with dangerous dimensional anomalies."
@SheriffCHuxley "As I said. Regrettably."
"Joyce and I will require the ability to move through their territory without interference. Unfortunately, I... realize that this is a tall order."
@SheriffCHuxley "There are plenty of cautionary tales involving portals to other realms from Icathia alone."
"There is no telling which other spaces her thread intersected, though if anything malign had also made the crossing, it seems likely we would have heard of it by now."
@SheriffCHuxley Not a mage in the traditional sense, at least.
"Prudent. In spite of amicable visits with the leadership, the public still takes considerable exception with 'artificial' life. Not to mention, they will certainly not be thrilled about the possibility of an avenue to another >
@SheriffCHuxley His antennae sink.
"It's clear that much has happened in the time I've been gone. If memory serves, they are not fond of mages."
"Their overuse of petricite in their architecture makes long-term visitation... unpleasant."
