@TheGoldenSmurf Considering its just a repost account and 90% of the images are just AIslop from various sources, you could make an exception and DMCA
he's "waiting for a message from the creator" as if it's the creator's onus to make sure their work isn't stolen w/o credit🙄
@Girl_hick so the point of claiming you have "insider information" is to get other people to believe that a content creator is an actual predator, on the basis of "trust me bro"
either that or the "information" you have is nothing but baseless rumors 🙄
And it gets dumber
This reminds me of the same crap everyone's been calling out game journalists for:
the type of people who never *create* anything, but see themselves as the gatekeepers for which creators should win/lose
usually based on politics or moral grandstanding
After hearing claims that a small subset of the Signalis Discord moderation team had been discussing decisions and bans in a private group separate from the rest of the staff, I honestly didn't want to believe it.
However, ever since I made the twitter post, several current and former moderators have privately reached out to me. Some said they believed my ban was unfair but felt too afraid to oppose it. Others shared screenshots of discussions that took place in this separate moderator group before my ban.
Before posting them, I asked other moderators to verify that the screenshots were authentic, and they confirmed they were.
Reading them was honestly heartbreaking.
For almost 4 years I've been on the server, I've always been respectful to the moderation team and believed they would always approach situations fairly and without bias. I never imagined I'd one day be reading conversations where they had already formed opinions about me and were discussing banning me before I was even given a chance to defend myself.
Whether people agree with my actions or not is up to them. But I never expected to find out that convos like this were happening behind my back. That realization has left me feeling incredibly hurt and betrayed.
At this point, even if my ban were reversed, I don't think I could ever bring myself to return. The trust I had in the moderation team is gone, and I don't think I'd ever feel welcome or comfortable there again.
@tyrslament As both I and Joetastic have said: The game devs are NOT affiliated with the Discord server
This isn't their fault, they have no control over what Discord/Reddit communities fans decide to make
Dang, as if payment processors sabotaging transactions between CONSENTING ADULTS wasn't enough
Discord mods (NOT affiliated with the game's devs) had to step in and say "hold my beer"
As some of you might have noticed, I'm no longer in the Signalis Discord Server.
Unfortunately, a few days ago I was permanently banned (and because of that I was banned from the Signalis Subreddit too)
The stated reason was due to "Illegal actions or breaking Discord ToS." which is a very serious allegation. However during my appeal, the moderator handling my case explicitly told me the mod team was *not* accusing me of grooming or doing anything illegal.
They explained they had banned me due to concerns of me accepting an NSFW commission from someone who had recently turned 18.
Before accepting this NSFW commission, I had explicitly asked if they were over 18, and they told me "Yes". This commission itself was requested only after they had already turned 18, but I had no idea that their birthday had been so recent.
At *no* point did I have any inappropriate relationships with this person nor did I send anything NSFW or explicit before they were 18. Every message I sent was strictly professional just like every client I've worked with.
I would never intentionally break any server rules and especially discord TOS. Had I known this person just recently turned 18 and that accepting a NSFW commission from them would result in a ban, I would have declined this commission immediately.
What hurts the most isn't just losing access to the server but its been finding out that the wording of the ban reason has left people with the wrong impression about me n what actually happened.
In the nearly 4 years I've spent on the Signalis discord server, I've shared many WIP screenshots and videos, shared models and other resources for my fellow animators, collabed with others and made many friends along the way. The Signalis discord server has been a huge part of my creative journey, and it really saddens me that this is how my time there has to come to an end.
It's now been almost a week since I got banned. Despite following up, I still haven't received any further updates or word on my appeal.
I don't wish any ill will toward the moderators or the server staff, and I respect whatever decision they ultimately end up making regarding my ban.
I also don't want this post to become a reason for anyone to harass them. My only goal is to explain why Ive suddenly disappeared and to clear up any misunderstandings surrounding my ban.
If the mod team would still like to continue this conversation, my DMs are always open. I'm more than willing to answer any questions or clarify any concerns.
And to everyone who has supported my work over the years on the server, whether you've seen my WIP posts, downloaded my models, commissioned me, collabed with me, or even simply just been a friend there, I just wanna say Thank you. Your support means a lot to me, and I'm truly heartbroken that things had to end this way.
NGL, this is why I don't like fan-run communities. All it takes is one clique of neckbeards on a power trip, and you end up with situations like this.
If an OFFICIAL community manager goes ballistic, at least their paycheck and the company's PR is on the line.
@AuspiciousGuest Most FGs put zero effort in their singleplayer content, but online versus tends to have terrible retention among casuals
I checked the steam achievements for Strive and SF6, only 45% of people even played 100 online matches which is ~6 hours of match time at best
Out of all the dumb names and nonsense Engrish titles the FGC has poked fun at (hi blaz-blue), not one of their devs felt the need to make a doubling-down blogpost LOL
"Did we make one of the biggest branding fumbles in fighting game history? No, its the children who are wrong"
@DeltaAlmagest Making an article about turned it into a bigger issue about it than it already was XD
It's 100% a case of "just shut up and take the L", but some people (and companies) have this compulsive need to try and explain their way out of the grave they dug for themselves
@AuspiciousGuest And I say this as someone who doesn't mind simple inputs. FG devs have been chasing wider audiences with "more accessibility" for years, but the biggest sales booster has been good singleplayer content (Injustice, MK, SF6 world tour)
@AuspiciousGuest TBF, accessibility in fighting games is a huge trap. Game already has simple inputs, but veterans of any FG archetype will always stomp newcomers
What casuals really need is better onboarding and singleplayer content, but almost no devs want to invest in that
were to be deleted from PS libraries, until public outcry made Sony reverse that decision
- July 2022: 300+ StudioCanal movies deleted from PS libraries in Europe
It's only a matter of time before their track record with digital movies/shows extends to games
Better get used to sailing the high seas, because that's the only way you'll be able to *own* anything anymore. fun reminder of what "digital license agreements" get you:
- Sept 2025: 500+ movies deleted from PS libraries
- Dec 2023: 1300+ seasons of Discovery shows [...]
