Pedro Laurenz and Pedro Maffia shared a music stand in Julio De Caro's sextet. One is played at every milonga, the other almost never. Tanda of the Week 40/2026 goes to Maffia's own orchestra, 1930-31, with three singers taking turns on the refrains.

1926 was the year electrical recording reached tango, and this week's tanda plays it straight: four instrumentals from Orquesta Típica Victor, cut within months of that shift and turning 100 this year.
