Three men have appeared in court after members of the Windhoek City Police allegedly caught them loading dozens of crates of beer from a delivery truck in Windhoek’s Lafrenz Industrial Area.

The arrests were made on Tuesday evening during a routine police patrol.

Officers saw five men loading about 40 crates of beer from a delivery truck onto two vehicles. When police approached the group, two men ran away, and three others were arrested at the scene. The suspects have been identified as Angula Matti (31), Shikolo Nathaniel (36), and Shindolo Egindius (34).

Police said the beer is suspected to have been stolen from an employer. The recovered crates were returned to the owner. The three men appeared in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court, where each was granted bail of N$1,000.
