Eeshoke Chula Chula Football Club is promoting food security and community development through its Savanna Green Farming initiative in the Eeshoke village.

Deep into the off season, the club is growing crops such as spinach, cabbage, maize, tomatoes, green peppers and onions to supply fresh produce to local households and vendors.

The project aims to improve access to affordable, locally grown food while creating income to support the club’s football activities.

The initiative also encourages sustainable agriculture and demonstrates how football clubs can contribute to social and economic development beyond the game.

Every time our President speaks, I am convinced more and more that she has the clarity of what needs to be done and the resolute to have it delivered. Unfortunately, the team that needs to support the delivery seems to struggle to catch up with her vision. Regulatory processes continue to take forever, client service delivery by public sector continues to be suboptimal and policy reforms continue to be treated like a luxury. When will the rest of government from Parliament to Cabinet to Regulators and Public Service official delivering service to the private sector catch up with the President?

Namibia has zero oil refineries. Every litre is imported, almost all through Walvis Bay.

For 30+ years the state tried to own the trade through NAMCOR. It kept losing to the same thing, money:

N$195m gone in 9 months (2008, Glencore)
N$1.1bn owed to Gunvor (2024)
N$7.2bn deal handed to Vitol (2026), NAMCOR bypassed

Vitol needed no state guarantee. NAMCOR did. Balance sheet beats licence.
