Please help me keep my TD5 Defender on the road but this will be relevant to a lot of older cars!! ‼️IMPORTANT‼️ *Please Share.*
So the government is going to try and effectively remove old vehicles from the road.
They've created a sneaky consultation on this huge change with an end date of only the 6th of September.
They want to have a yearly emissions check on every car and motorcycle on the road AS WELL as your mot.
If you pass the mot but then go to your emissions check, if the vehicle doesn't emit exactly the same emissions as when it was built the car will be banned from any use on the road even if it passed its mot emissions.
‼️ This will effectively destroy cars for those of us who love older cars, as well as those who simply can’t afford a newer car. Also car tuning and modifications will be forced to stop you been able to drive your car.‼️
This is targeting all vehicle, cars, motorbikes, trikes, kit cars etc.
So far they are just targeting cars after 2001 but they want to use it on every vehicle on the road targeting mot & tax exempt (historic) vehicles.
They've purposely not given this consultation much time, so please go to the bottom of this page, click this link: https://t.co/Hg0M1j9rPx and click *DISAGREE* and tell them you do not want any of this from the government and share the consultation for others to do the same.
Only way to stop this would be to get the results of this consultation to be a resounding NO (DISAGREE)!

It just keeps going up and up.
Today, a staggering 150 out of 532 Crown courtrooms across England and Wales are sitting empty.
Despite there being no credible evidence to support his claim, when David Lammy was Justice Secretary, he tried to curb our ancient right to a trial by jury. He claimed it was the only way to bring down the backlog of 80,000 cases.
Well, he was wrong.
Judges, lawyers, MPs and victims of crime all warned that his reforms would undermine public trust in the criminal justice system and put judges at greater risk of physical abuse.
The Institute for Government has shown that Lammy’s reforms would save just 2 per cent of Crown Court time — not the 20 per cent ministers claimed.
During the Makerfield by-election, our now Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, called jury trials a “lynchpin of a fair society” and urged Keir Starmer to “pause” the planned reforms.
Well, he’s the boss now.
Burnham must put his money where his mouth is: get the courts sitting and axe this authoritarian plan.
What??? This is so see through, of course the press will ignore the biggest part of this story!
under the guise of ‘protecting’ people from bad builders the gov is launching an app.
The new government “Trusted Payments” system to stop ‘cowboy builders’ will create an extraordinarily detailed digital record every time you use it for work on your home including…
▪️Your name and address
▪️Exactly what work is being done
▪️Contracts and quotes
▪️The cost of the work
▪️Payment milestones
▪️Photographs and snagging records
▪️Payment approvals and transaction records
And on the business
▪️Identity and business details
▪️Bank/payment information
▪️Business and tax numbers
▪️All work they carry out
So a simple private transaction between you and your builder becomes a structured digital record of WHO you are, WHERE you live, WHAT you are doing to your property and HOW MUCH you are spending on it!
You would be insane to voluntarily share this data with a government tying up data between all departments, creating a massive file on you!
Come on people Wakey Wakey!
A leaflet will never change this.
A married doctor - a very highly paid locum - cornered and sexually assaulted a student nurse in the ward kitchen, asking her if she had a boyfriend, becoming aggressive.
He claimed in court that “cultural differences” blinded him “to the red light” that her anger showed, believing her to be sexually available because she had had boyfriends. He wasn’t blinded - he was forcing himself on her. He knew the balance of power was in his favour, knew that she didn’t want it. He saw her as a tart, and wanted to grab some for himself. In fact, men like him enjoy it more when their victim is distressed.
Interesting that none of his colleagues would write a character reference for him - they can usually drag up somebody.
He was suspended for a year and allowed to practise on patients as a highly paid locum at Stoke to skill up again. What a poor deal for the NHS and patients.
Anyone want him and his cultural differences as their doctor? I don’t. I wouldn’t want to work with him either. He is profoundly untrustworthy, a cynical abuser of power, without integrity.
