I’ve been doing a unit on Indigenous art with my year 3 students. Here is a class artwork we completed inspired by some Aboriginal rock paintings we looked at in one of our lessons. #acuedu_p
In year 3 I had the most amazing teacher. The way she connected with each student was inspiring. This is the woman that made me want to be a teacher. I’m not sure if she’s still working, or if she has now retired, but she changed my life. Thankyou Mrs Lambert. #acuedu_p
My first block starts on Monday! Three weeks with a year three class, so excited to build relationships and practice programming for more than one day #acuedu_p
I spent the weekend finishing two very large assignments and I feel so accomplished! Only one more to go and then I’m officially in my final semester 🤩 #acuedu_p
Having a really hard time with the class I’m covering today. None of my go-to behaviour management strategies are working and I’m out of ideas. What advice would you give to a new casual teacher for a situation like this? #acuedu_p
Thoroughly enjoying taking my time to complete my digital portfolio for EDFD452! The opportunity to reflect on my teaching while also creating an interactive website has been so much fun. #acuedu_p
We don’t need our teachers to be the most dynamic, the most innovative, or the most tech savvy. We need them to care about kids… work well with their colleagues… and come to work every day, excited about making a difference.
Some position practice with year one yesterday! One student had to draw 2D shapes on their whiteboard, then use position words to explain to their partner what their image looked like, hopefully producing the same drawing #acuedu_p
It’s easy to forget that teachers are constantly facing their own battles as well as influencing the lives of their students. Ask a peer teacher how they’re feeling today! #acuedu_p
It’s good when central office admin remember what it’s like to work in a school. It’s good when school admin remember what it’s like to be a teacher. It’s good when teachers remember what it’s like to be a student. The students… they’re just trying to get through their day.
Is your child starting school with additional needs? It’s never too early to ask questions about your child’s schooling needs.

Six days and counting until my first ever casual teaching day! I'll be using this next week to collate all of the resources I've collected and prepare myself for my entry into the teaching world. #acuedu_p
I thoroughly enjoyed completing the first assessment of EDFD452! I find with working two jobs and completing a full time uni degree, I rarely take the time to reflect on my own teaching experiences. This assignment forced me to! #acuedu_p
If you can’t beat em, join em!
I never saw anything good about these pop-it’s & found that they distracted the students more than they helped them. However, I tried to put a positive spin on it & create an education version! What do you think?
