After tonight’s Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill vote, I have tabled an amendment.
My amendment seeks to ensure that people who have health conditions which fluctuate, for example Parkinson’s and MS, are included in the severe conditions criteria for UC.
The @UKGov’s disastrous plans for disability benefits will impoverish many disabled people. They've not been consulted. The impacts on their lives are unexplored. Their futures now depend on chaotic 11th hour negotiations. They remain shut out. Surely we can do better than this?
Lots to agree with in the latest blog on the national care service from @NeuroAlScotland highlighting real concerns about lack of clarity: https://t.co/RUAa77Q89v
Here's our Scotland Trustee, Brian Carson, reflecting after meeting with the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, @neilcgray, earlier today at the Scottish Parliament.
Absolutely scunnered not to be able to vote in #GE24
Applied for a postal vote on 22 May when election was announced. It hadn't arrived by 22 June, when leaving for holiday, so made proxy application instead. @GlasgowCC has just rejected it. *Utter* shambles!
Brilliant to see this taking off in Dundee. Whatever colour of shirt you normally wear I do hope everyone affected by #Parkinsons in and around #Dundee@NHSTayside who is interested can make it along. Great way to keep active and meet other people with the same condition ⚽️🧡⚽️
"While intensive care medicine was established to offer short term organ support to those with reversible disease, it is now increasingly providing expensive terminal care, and venerating life-extension over quality..."

Folks please retweet this notice far and wide and help us get the word out. We now have sessions in Aberdeen, Dundee, Dunfermline/Raith Rovers with Edinburgh and North Ayrshire starting soon. Help us grow the game for players with Parkinson’s.
Earlier this year we launched a major new report, which highlights that Scotland currently does not have enough Parkinson’s nurses. Today for #InternationalNursesDay we’re underlining our call for more Parkinson’s nurses. Check out the report here 👉 https://t.co/xqrJG68k4g
We hope that new First Minister @johnswinney will bring back a named minister for older people when he forms his new @ScotGov team.

We were really pleased to join @agescotland + others to call for the reinstatement of a Minister for Older People in likely new FM @JohnSwinney's @ScotGov team. Excellent to see @SNP MSP Kenneth Gibson championing this important role too.
If you agree with us that older ppl (aged 50+!) in Scotland need a named Minister to represent their needs in @ScotGov you can show support on o @agescotland's site 👉https://t.co/VhM8oSLIab
We’re calling on future First Minister @JohnSwinney to demonstrate commitment to improving the lives of older people in Scotland by reinstating a named Minister for Older People. Please consider sharing the campaign and signing our petition: https://t.co/QSBTMUZdru

Excellent article here from @STVNews which really underlines our call for more Parkinson’s Nurses. Thank you to Mark Coxe for sharing his experience on why specialist nurses make all the difference for people living with Parkinson’s.
