Marine Veteran Fights Off Armed Carjacking Attempt in Oxon Hill; Four Teens Arrested

OXON HILL, MD — A Marine Corps veteran fought off a group of armed teens who attempted to carjack him in broad daylight this week in Oxon Hill.

According to the victim, Jheyco Borda was working on his truck outside his home around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday when four hooded teens approached him and attempted to take his vehicle at gunpoint.

Surveillance video captured the confrontation, showing Borda refusing to surrender and physically resisting the suspects during the attempted carjacking.

The suspects ultimately fled the scene without taking the vehicle.

Following an investigation, authorities arrested all four suspects believed to be involved in the incident.

Borda later shared the video online and urged residents to remain vigilant.

“Be careful and be aware of your surroundings,” he wrote.

The investigation remains ongoing.
