ID cards, limiting trial by jury, and now "plans for a huge rollout for facial recognition cameras in cities, towns and villages across the country"
Labour laying the foundations for a far right government to build on #GMB
Will @LibDems stand up for civil liberties?
@liberal_reform have condemned the Online Safety Act for its threat to privacy and free exchange of information for millions of people.
The pressure is on to oppose this "poorly drafted legislation".

The government is gaslighting us to try and hide the horrorshow of the Online Safety Act's collateral damage. My latest for @theipaper https://t.co/KeKK0wLsJY
86 deregulated Free zones. 12 Freeports. 74 SEZs.
UK councils are about to lose control of land and assets to corporate lobbyists.
My Parliament petition calling for a full transparency review is now live. Deadline: 30 Dec 2025.
Please sign and share as widely as possible.
Thank you

The Online Safety Act censored one of my posts on lactose intolerance.
It censored another where I mentioned donkeys, and my friend can't see one of my posts on Neanderthals processing fat.
If you support the Online Safety Act, you are an imbecile.
@barry_halverson@peterkyle@BBCBreakfast just think it through, how will these dangerous laws be used in the future, you might trust labour but the next government has an extra set of tools to change the narrative
@barry_halverson@peterkyle@BBCBreakfast as I suspected you have no idea what you're talking about. there's a court case, if Wikipedia loses then they'll block access from the UK
many other companies will do the same
Liberal Reform will be putting forward an emergency motion to Lib Dem Conference asking for a pause and rethink of the OSA given what we have seen:
🔸 threats to wiki and free exchange of information
🔸 LGBT+ websites being blocked
🔸 heavy handed implementation by Ofcom.
@barry_halverson@peterkyle@BBCBreakfast are you really ok with losing access to Wikipedia. this bill makes being online less safe for everyone, if you don't understand that then you haven't read the bill or understood its implications
This is just completely ridiculous, the idea that adults using VPNs are somehow endangering children is absurd. Adults don't have an obligation to hand over their personal information in order to browse r/cider
I’ve spent 10 years in the tech industry.
Anybody who thinks the Online Safety Act is protecting children is utterly delusional and frankly, they are technologically illiterate and unqualified to have an opinion on this matter.
@TStandfield1789@Nigel_Farage@reformparty_uk@TiceRichard Even Owen Jones and Novara Media are against the Online Safety Act, written by the Conservatives, now defended by Labour. Maybe it's not a partisan thing https://t.co/36A95cugXv
