@chaosxmk@nullruby40887@NotHaru47 That's all newly written content for Remake. He changed the entire Ciel route and added buttloads of shit to it including this, has nothing to do with the original anymore.

@sanderjinn@kenshirotism I think it's telling that this person's apparent first reaction to this child character was thinking about porn of them.
But everyone else are the weird ones.

The ability to just say "oh I was wrong my bad" will make you a much happier and overall more pleasant person to be around
contrary to popular belief, you don't have to double down on things you've said for literally no benefit
@Nibu89 @Adityap74853689 @Fightincowboy It shouldn't be a problem for most people (like MH saves) but it also should've just been an option in the main menu.
No idea why it isn't but hopefully they add it soon. It really shouldn't be hard to just place the option there...
So awesome how the video was about the ways that otaku culture creates a comfortable fantasy of women for the benefit of misogynists but the lasting legacy of it was the sexy dance a character does for half a second.
@BenisKen@seanhiruki@DimitriMonroeZ You couldn't make a new character in DD1. That's a design choice.
What you meant was character customization, which is limited per savefile by design. Same as DD1. Design choice.
Difference is now some scummy higher-up put it as DLC for idiots to buy and whine about.
@MalditoMP@AnhurdynPlus@malphier It makes it so you need to be aware of more than just the guy in front of you, and as a result it feels way more fun and immersive.
Definitely check out some streams to get a good feel for what it's like, though there's nothing quite like exploring it yourself.
@MalditoMP@AnhurdynPlus@malphier It's not that hard to believe, ER had long stretches of grass with nothing but 2-3 enemies. This has larger enemy density, and better enemy AI.
You know Caelid? Think Caelid but with more, better placed enemies, that use the environment against you instead of mindless attacks.
@MalditoMP@AnhurdynPlus@malphier DD2's exploration is what Elden Ring could have been.
More content, less big patches of grass with nothing on them. More significant items/rewards, more varied/natural encounters, better biome, better enemy tactics.
Makes the wilderness actually feel hard. No easy horse mode.
@XxDozenRosesxX@malphier@CohhCarnage@DaveyTweetWorld It's still Dogma, it's not any easier or convenient. Largely, it's the same.
Either way, it would never be Helldivers. It's niche by default, the very nature of the game automatically filters players as you can see from other posts on it.
"Just don't buy the Microtransactions! EASY!"
No. For many, that's now how this works.
The problem is simple: When you want to sell something, there has to be a need for it. It's easy for us to surmise that everything in a MTX list (take, Dragon's Dogma 2 for instance) is "extra" or "unneeded" since you get it all in the game. No harm, no foul, right?
Wrong.
When you try to sell items, you try to make a need. You need an impetus for purchase. When you start attaching money into items you earn in the game, who is to say:
"The game developers were told to make sure that we limit X item because they are selling it as DLC."
So maybe that game designer was going to put an super rare item drop on that hard boss, or maybe at the end of that hard dungeon. But nope! They ended up putting a lesser item there to influence folks to want to BUY that particular rarer item as DLC.
Now did this actually happen? WHO KNOWS. Could it actually happen? Think about it... ABSOLUTELY. Think of the companies we're talking about here. You honestly think they wouldn't change the mechanics/game play/drop rate of items to encourage players to buy them as DLC?
So many folks view this as a slippery slope (which, over the decades, it's clear we've been sliding down). Is it going to be that one day, an RPG like this releases with a 14 page PDF on real-prices of every single item in the game for purchase? Sounds ridiculous, right? But tell me something...
If these companies thought they COULD do that and get away with it, would they?
And what direction are we going in right now? 🤣
I want to end this ridiculously long post with this: This is all a thought-experiment on why people get so angry at single-player DLC. There are thousands of reasons people hate it, but this is mine. If you're one of the ones that doesn't like single-player DLC, why? If you don't mind it at all after reading all this, why?
And finally, if you are one of the people who says, "It's cool, they can do whatever they want, I just won't buy it," are you fully confident that stuff like this isn't going to get much worse over time? And if so, why?
Ok, good talk! 🤣
