Thread about my position on Đổi Mới, the path to socialism in Vietnam and socialism
On Đổi Mới : Đổi Mới was a huge (net) positive to Vietnam and it can't be liquidated immediately nor in the short term (2 - 3 decades), any attempt at liquidating it must be gradual and
@BanhmiBrieoche IMO communists from the more privileged stratas and/or classes should use their privileges (financial, networking, relationships,...) to help the movement. Those with private property and/or mansion(s), yacht(s),... have to give them up.
@TayNgang Um, shouldn't you be aware of the other factors contributing to the miserable condition, like sanctions ? You call yourself a history buff after all.
Vietnam truly has the most BPD coded political landscape of all time. One day, you can wake up to some really good much needed changes and development, only to immediately be followed by utter dogwater decisions.

@indischetroopen One wouldn't be surprised if they browse the Vietnamese internet, even just for a little. Thread City, Facebook and Reddit are the prime place for these kinds.

when she did events they called her unemployed
when she put her life on the line they called her foolish

Huge discussion over the case of Bao Ngoc Tieu Ashley, who claimed to have been kidnapped by Israel while joining Gaza-bound humanitarian Global Sumud Flotilla as the only Vietnamese participant. The activist urged VN government/people to support her cause & call for her release.
