@thinkdefence I think that's unfair on Army tbh, some of our kit through the years has been world class, 432, warrior, BR90, T2 etc the issue has been our inability to give out bribes like Ze Germans and the yanks to sell our kit abroad. As defence has been cut, export has been killed.
@thinkdefence I get that we are stuck with Ajax, but given that is only happening because GD have a better legal team than MOD, is it actually advisable to buy more equipment from a company with such questionable practices?
@thinkdefence If there are any people left to pay for it?! I know dozens in the industry who want to leave. Fed up losing half our wages and getting nothing back.
@UKDefJournal Ah yes, replace the old, obsolete, bespoke LR fleet with an old, obsolete, bespoke Toyota.
only logical choice is the Mercedes like so many of our NATO allies.
@BearJFK Exactly, Recce in force is a dead concept. It was dying when Ajax was conceived. Yet again the British Army is leading the way in obsolete concepts.
@thinkdefence Be really handy if Terrier was coming up for a midlife upgrade ๐ designed and built in the UK and using a COTS engine and proven transmission. Great little truck, if a bit complicated.
@Mark1_1984@thinkdefence@Sam_Cranny Terrier breaching is a terrible idea. We have Trojan for that! Just needs to be remote control, which was proposed initially but Army didn't want it.
