There have been 35 players in NBA history to average at least 16.5 ppg, 6.0 apg, and 3.5 rpg in their second season. Of those 35 players, 29 of them have become at least a 1 time Allstar. One of the players to hit those averages in their second season is Keyonte George.
@jpottingaround For sure it’s not apples to apples. I just think the Jazz must be confident an offer isn’t coming because if one does, they are mishandling this situation severely. Seems like they already are regardless. Anyway love the pod! Seriously is my first listen whenever a new comes out
@jpottingaround I just get the feeling the Jazz are operating with 100% certainty that an offer will not be coming from other teams which does give them all the leverage unless he wants to sacrifice $20 mil in year one by taking the qualifying offer.
@jpottingaround He ended up getting way less than I expected because no team wanted to sign him to an offer. I get it is the Lakers so the situation is not the same but I bet the Jazz are calling every team with cap space and saying the same thing.
Friendly reminders!
- Darryn Peterson’s camp and the Utah Jazz have kept constant communication.
- There is no sense of not wanting Utah or specifically wanting Memphis.
-The reason for the cancelled workout was that they are confident that he won’t be on the board at #2.
@JayNCtoDC@DubClayton I did not say that Walt will be Jimmy. I don’t think he will be but what I did say actually destroys your argument and so you just laugh it off haha. Waking away with the victory
@JayNCtoDC@DubClayton Look at Jimmy Butler’s rookie year. He was putrid at 22 just like Walt. However Jimmy did not play as much as Walt what I am saying is basing a players value off a rookie season alone is stupid.
@JayNCtoDC@DubClayton 22 year old rookie who less than 12 months before being traded to the Grizzles was the best player on the best team in college basketball. If Walter Clayton was just salary filler why not include Kevin Loves contract that expires this offseason to get cap space being then?
@DubClayton@JayNCtoDC I immediately follow up by saying that I think the Wizards are in a great place and I didn’t love that we trade Riley on draft night. Just trying to give props where props are due.
@DubClayton@JayNCtoDC I really wasn’t trying to insult you. I was just saying that I have too been fooled by Mickey Mouse March too and that is why I referenced Ochai Agbaji because at one point I thought he may br a piece lol. It came out stronger than I intended.
@JayNCtoDC@DubClayton After talking with you guys I can say the same thing about Wizards fans. 😂 I came here to have a respectful conversation and you just laugh it off.
@DubClayton@JayNCtoDC Where did I say that Memphis asked for Walter Clayton? I literally said “for all we know” which is actually very little of what went on behind the scenes in that deal. I am just raising hypotheticals, even if you think they are ridiculous, of something that is possible.
@DubClayton I think the Wizard are building something nice and have a good future. I hope they can build a lasting contender because I know fans like you deserve it. I am not trying to put down the Wizards. I just think the Jazz would do that deal today knowing how it turned out.
@DubClayton You obviously have your Wizards bias and I have my Jazz bias. I am just saying this isn’t the slam dunk you think it is. However, I will say, I was not a fan of the move on draft night but we had just taken Ace and Riley is a similar type player so it didn’t make sense.
@DubClayton For a multi-time all-star and a defensive player of year lol. For all we know, Memphis only did the deal if Walter Clayton was involved. Memphis could have asked for collier but they didn’t
@DubClayton Ah the rookie that had a solid Mickey Mouse March that is suddenly an important part of the future? We had one of those in Achai Agbaji and he was gone in less than a year. Riley shows promise but let’s give it more than year to judge the players in this trade haha
