Excited to finally post about this paper in Paleobiology I’ve been working on with Isaac Krone and @the_rock_hobbit
It’s our first order approximation of what could end up in the fossil record of the future 🦴⏰🐸

Studying reproduction in extinct organisms is challenging, and a fossil record of genitalia is very rare.
Luckily the penis bone (baculum) of mammals fossilizes sometimes.
I described this bone for an extinct subfamily of canids, the Borophaginae

I would like to know why @UofCalifornia just sent an email to its employees claiming that the tentative agreements reached with UAW means that “student employees are expected to cease any picketing.”
Biologist on #UCstrike working for a #FairUCnow and for a fair future for biology and public education ❤️😍.
Very proud of my colleagues que luchan!! @berkeleyIB @uaw2865
Happening TOMORROW!! Join West Crescent at the West Circle roundabout for picket treats 🍪🧁 and holiday cheer 🎄🎁 More info (particularly for bakers) can be found here: https://t.co/uLRSg88bxM
Hope to see you there!
Our occupation of the UC Office of the President has moved from the lobby to a conference room. No business as usual until we win fair contracts! #UAWonStrike#FairUCnow
#UCstrike As a #biologist on strike, one big concern is that the total salary does not contemplate that we conduct fieldwork in the summer so we only get paid for 9 months (until now). We need to ensure that fieldwork is included in the paid summer positions!🌱
It’s been 11 days since grad workers submitted a proposal on wages. Still no response from UC. We’re marching to the office of the President to ask where is the leadership?? #FairUCNow#UAWonStrike#UCBerkeley
“I am an ardent supporter of worker’s rights, and it is my sincere hope negotiations will continue in earnest to come to a reasonable resolution for both parties involved. I implore you to come to an agreement that is fair for workers and their families.”

Sad to be missing out on in person #GSA2022 but you can check out my eposter on ecological niche modeling for Glyptotherium during the Great American Biotic Interchange.
Feel free to reach out with questions/comments/suggestions!
Welcome @Ana_Carneiro4 & @TannerPaleo to the CRS team! Read about what they'll be doing as Campus Coordinators, their fave spots on campus, and more! 👉👉https://t.co/0KhhKKn0tj
This IQ adoption study is circulating due to a recent controversy surrounding the lead author.
I've read it and want to explain how it's wrong. It jumps to a conclusion which isn't supported by the data or methods and only bolsters the fallacy of genetic determinism

Just wrapped up fieldwork in the Catskills with Susan Tremblay (@verdoornia) and @nysmuseums scientists Linda VanAller Hernick and Chuck Ver Straeten. I had a great time with them, and it was refreshing working outdoors instead of on a screen for a few days!
I’m excited to break down some of the rocks in hydrofluoric acid when I’m back in Berkeley, and see what 385 million year old arthropods remains may be hiding inside (the photo is from last year’s samples).
