@kirstimarohn https://t.co/A10at8RNUr. Testing you home well is the only way to know if your water is safe to drink. MDH recommends that you test for bacteria, nitrate, arsenic, manganese, and lead.
The state of MN and the federal government are getting lead out of drinking water! Thanks to funding from the State of MN and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, public water systems will identify all lead service lines by Oct. 2024. https://t.co/DgG0xidSuo
MDH Commissioner @bcunningMDPHD had a great chat with MPR’s @AngelaDavisMPR as well as callers on the July 5 show. They discussed her new role as health commissioner and some of the important public health work to be done in the years ahead.

@MNPublicHealth@mnhealth The pandemic revealed invisible systems that we depend on and yet take for granted. That we have interdependencies that need to work together better. That there are many factors that contribute to health that aren’t fully addressed.
@MNPublicHealth “Public health has a history of cycling back and forth between panic and neglect. “ We now have the opportunity to learn from the pandemic to strengthen our public health system. Jan Malcolm. @mnhealth
NEW RESOURCE 🌊 Drinking Water Guide Fact Sheet: Consumer Confidence Reports (CCRs)
This spring, the EPA is revising its drinking water CCR Rule. But what exactly is a CCR? We’ve pulled some key points from our Drinking Water Guide into a new fact sheet: https://t.co/eVs2JC50w1
@MNPublicHealth such a privilege to listen to former Commissioner of Health Jan Malcolm reflect on our public health vocation. @mnhealth “the light at the end of the tunnel”

Good to know that private well owners trust state agencies’ as sources of information. Now we need to make it easier to test and treat! #mnwrc22 Well done, Emily and team!!! @mnhealth
When the well’s dry, we know the worth of …a driller. While waiting for a resolution of their “out of water” well interference a family went a month without water. #mnwrc22 drillers are easily overwhelmed in a drought. @mndnr@mnhealth @mnwaterwell
Learning about how drought affects groundwater and the people who depend on it. Private wells can go “dry” when nearby deeper irrigation wells pull more water to compensate for lack of rainfall. @mndnr@mnhealth#mnwrc22
Thank you @CleanWaterCMN for highlighting Minnesota’s need to protect the 400K high risk acres in source water protection acres. There are about 1.2 million total acres is these protection areas. We can do this!!! #mnwrc22@mnhealth@mndnr@MnPCA@MNBWSR@MNagriculture
Learning how to engage people’s hearts as well as their minds through practicing the arts. Facts alone will not produce the kind of systemic change needed to protect and restore Minnesota’s waters. #mnwrc22@mnhealth@MNagriculture@MnPCA@MNBWSR@mndnr
