How to forget: Visualise the incident in grey and see it in third person. Now see the visual get smaller and smaller and you’re moving away further. Keep visualising this and your story will eventually become insignificant.
If you really can’t be bothered doing a task, set your timer for 1 minute and do the task. The challenge isn’t doing the task. The challenge is getting to the task. The 1-minute rule helps with this.
Stress and anxiety are stories replayed in one’s mind. Therefore you can change the power of these stories, weaken them, or even totally eliminate them. Your mind is more powerful than you think.
If you’re feeling mentally tired, write down all the stories in your head. Then pick one and delay the worry for that for tomorrow. One less thing means one less worry.
