Hi hello, I'm Maddy and this here is... Brushuki | The Artist Pokemon | A Grass/Fairy Type
They are my account mascot, but they are also me as a Pokemon X3
#fakemon
@RyDawgE_ I like to imagine he's playing one of the Pokémon spin-off games like Pokémon Dash or something along those lines. Alternatively he's playing a Pokémon equivalent to a real world game, like Animal Crossing but with Pokémon instead
Mainly using this post as a jumping off point for a topic.
I'm so scared for the eventual return of Z-Moves because since people complained about the length of move animations during the Sword and Shield era, they shortened and simplified a lot move animations. So its very*
*possible that when they return in Champions, the Pokemon will just gain the Z-Power glow, the little animation displaying the crystal and attack name will play, and then they'll use a retextured attack (in Twinkle Tackles case probably just the tacke animation with a sparkle*
I felt inspired to do a redraw from yours :3 didn’t want to take away its gimmick but i think he looks much nicer with a more bird like torso and a fluffier headpiece
@derpyJemanden@HurricaneVlad@GayLovinBenTenn Well I only used “modern” in reference to the most recent starters like Gen 9 and 8. But I’ll be the first to admit that I wish I didn’t specify modern. Even some Gen 1 Pokémon have the wild beast issue I was referring to
The moment it clicked why modern starters feel so wrong made me feel so smart. It’s because it’s practically impossible to picture them in the wild. Like I can’t imagine Cinderace in a desert or open field not looking out of place
@RoyBattyRabbit I'll give credit where credit is due. Cinderace is really cute. It's not often you see a Fully Evolved Starter Pokemon that remains just as charming as its first stage
-wasn't to say that Gen 1 designs can't be bad. A lot of their designs are. But that's just the thing, no Pokémon like Poliwhirl would be made today. Or at least if they were they wouldn't look anything like the originals. So using them as the crux to a point feels-
@GayLovinBenTenn And Machoke sucks. I remember I had planned this whole Kanto/Johto reimagining, and I planned to make Machop's whole line Oni's instead since that way them being "just dudes" would at least make some sense XP
My feed is like 90% people arguing over Pokémon being Pocket Monsters and not Pocket Animals, and I'm just sitting watching it all and feeling like Hiccup from HTTYD
@GravityTheGhost Like they once interviewed Ken Sugimori and he mentioned that Magnemite was made from the simple prompt of "A Magnet Pokemon". It wasn't made to be a gym leaders ace, or be connected to the powerplant. It was just... made
@GravityTheGhost It wasn't my intention to completely excuse Mr. Mime or any gen 1 Pokémon from criticism, I recognize that it isn't great.
What I meant was that it felt unfair to use Mr. Mime as the crux to someones point since when they made it, they probably just thought a Mime would be cool
If I ever draw Quaquaval again it will be too soon
Wasn’t really happy with the first rendition so I decided to try again. Kind of just wanted to play around with the fact that it has those tail feathers as well as see if I could give it a more appealing headdress
Wanted to try and make a redesign for Quaquaval that fixes my problem with it. Which honestly was mainly the weird torso it has, the pants, and how it barely had wings
