Occasional video game dipshit. Just want to be a goof with a heart of gold. Burn joyfully, give off light. Views are my own because no one else is this dumb.

Not everyone’s gotta be Bad Religion or Dead Kennedys, but if you’re not making space at shows for local advocacy groups/action/info, then you’re failing the moment. Shows should be a safe space, but we need to use them as a conduit to making the world outside them safer, better.
The message anti-war activists consistently shared was: “You could lose enough of our community it hurts—even if we’re small, even if some of us stuck with you”
The response from many in Democratic politics was: “This won’t shape voters’ choices + we don’t even need those votes”
It was definitely sound decision making to tell people to get over genocide and that it was time for centrism, not progressive policy. Happy for the Dems.
