so one day, a man came to his house, as usual for anybody to do so at the time to borrow the ẹ̀wù ẹtù but met the Baba about to eat, out of courtesy, he invited this ‘guest’ to join him to eat and he accepted, sat down and started eating forgetting for a second while he was there.

while they were eating and gisting about other things, another ‘guest’ walked into the room and asked to see Baba in ‘private. Bàbá Ẹlẹ́wù Ẹtù excused himself, went to meet the man and after a few minutes, they both returned to the living room while this second guest took his leave carrying something.

Baba and the first guest continued eating and when they were done, the first guest said ‘… and by the way, can i borrow your ẹ̀wù ẹtù for my daughter's wedding this weekend?’

Bàbá Ẹlẹ́wù Ẹtù was shocked as he exclaimed ‘but why did you not mention it when you came in, you see that man that just left (pointing to the direction of the door), it was the ẹ̀wù ẹtù he came to borrow for his daughter’s wedding next month’.

that was how the first guest could not secure the ẹ̀wù ẹtù.
