The shirtless protest by members of the Indian Youth Congress at the AI Summit reflects poor judgment. At a forum attended by international leaders and global business figures, such conduct sends the wrong message about our national priorities.

Democracy guarantees the right to protest but it also demands responsibility. When representing India before the world, partisan theatrics must give way to maturity and restraint.

Political differences can be fought relentlessly but never at the expense of the nation’s honour and dignity.

I extend my heartfelt greetings and congratulations to people across the world who cherish and celebrate their mother tongues with pride. Yesterday, on the solemn occasion of Bhasha Dibas, at the Bhasha Smritistambha at Deshapriya Park, I offered floral tributes to the brave souls whose sacrifice ensured that we may speak our mother tongue without fear. Their martyrdom transformed language into a symbol of democratic assertion and cultural self-respect.

I was also privileged to honour eminent personalities from diverse walks of life with the Banga Bibhushan and Banga Bhushan award. Their presence, and the songs and poetry that filled the air, elevated the spirit of the observance into a celebration of Bengal’s creative genius. I was also pleased to confer the Banga Bhushan honour upon Star Jalsha and Zee Bangla in recognition of their significant contribution to Bengal’s cultural landscape.

Bengal, and India, are lands of many languages and cultures. As we love Bangla with devotion, we equally respect Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Kurukh, Kurmali, Rajbanshi, Santali, Kamtapuri, Sadri and every other language spoken across our soil. Each language carries within it the history, memory and aspirations of its people. This unity in diversity is our greatest strength.

It pains me deeply that divisive forces are attempting to malign and target those who speak Bangla, labelling them as “Ghuspaithiya”, subjecting them to humiliation and persecution. Such actions strike at the very heart of constitutional values. We shall never allow Bengal’s culture, heritage or identity to be undermined by intolerance or narrow-minded politics.

Let 21st February renew our collective pledge that no communal or divisive force shall fracture Bengal’s harmony; that no attempt to erode our linguistic pride shall succeed; and that we shall uphold the inclusive and secular ethos that defines us. The glory our mother tongue has bestowed upon us before the world is a legacy we are duty-bound to protect.

Is the @ECISVEEP of the view that directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court can be openly FLOUTED? The highest Court of the land has repeatedly emphasised transparency, due process, and adherence to official channels of communication. Yet we are witnessing instructions being circulated over WhatsApp rather than through formal, traceable, and accountable mechanisms.

Even more disturbing are credible reports of Special Roll Observer, C. Murugan, issuing instructions regarding the acceptability of birth certificates directly to Micro Observers in a WhatsApp group, to inflate deletion numbers. Need I remind the ECI of the Supreme Court’s categorical directive that the role of micro-observers must remain strictly assistive? Why, then, is statutory procedure being bypassed, and under whose instructions?

Additionally, Roll Observers are designated district-wise, yet it is seen that login credentials linked to these observers are being accessed from a central location in Kolkata. Login Data is being misused to generate queries and specifically target a certain community at the direction of ECI’s political masters in Delhi. Should this matter be independently examined, it will be established that the tower location and IP address of the login device differ from the actual location of the concerned roll observer.

The Election Commission derives its legitimacy from PUBLIC TRUST, not POLITICAL PATRONAGE. We shall pursue this matter before the highest court of law. Further, any person aligning themselves with or acting at the behest of Zamindars of Delhi will face stringent and uncompromising legal action. Brace yourselves!

I wholeheartedly welcome GoWB’s Interim State Budget for FY 2026–27, a people-first Budget that reflects compassion, foresight and commitment to inclusive growth.

The annual support of ₹4,000 for landless agricultural farmers is a visionary move that addresses vulnerability at its roots. The complete waiver of irrigation charges under Government Tubewells and RLI schemes will significantly reduce cultivation costs for small and marginal farmers, strengthening the backbone of our rural economy. From the Singur movement of 2006–08 to today’s Budget, @AITCofficial has stood with farmers through action.

The launch of Banglar YUBASATHI is another landmark step, extending monthly assistance of ₹1,500 for up to five years to educated youth aged 21–40, empowering them to pursue meaningful opportunities. Equally commendable is the ₹1,000 monthly enhancement for ASHA and ICDS workers, para-teachers, Shiksha Bandhu Sahayaks, Samprasarak and Mukhya Samprasarak, special educators and management staff, civic volunteers, village police and green police workers, a fitting recognition of those who serve society at the frontlines every day.

And most importantly, strengthening our commitment to empowering every woman, monthly financial assistance under Lakshmir Bhandar has been increased by ₹500, with women from the General category now set to receive ₹1,500 and SC/ST women ₹1,700 every month. This Budget restores hope, inspires confidence and charts a bold course towards Swanirbhor Bangla. My congratulations to our Maa-Mati-Manush Sarkaar for presenting a Budget that truly belongs to the people.

Public service, to me, has always meant fairness, empathy, and being present for people without prejudice or distinction. Guided by this belief, Sebaashray continues to serve the residents of Diamond Harbour with a singular focus on accessible healthcare and human dignity.

Today, I visited the Sebaashray-2 health camp at the Harindanga BDO Office ground in Falta, where I interacted with patients, listened carefully to their concerns, and tried to understand their challenges at a personal level. I reassured them of my continued support and of our commitment to ensuring that healthcare reaches those who need it the most.

I am grateful to every doctor, health worker, volunteer, and official who has come together in this collective effort. The warmth, trust, and affection shown by the people of Falta today have truly moved me and strengthened my resolve to walk alongside them, every step of the way.

In 2024, through the sheer force of their mandate, the people of Cooch Behar decisively consigned the ‘Porijayee’ BJP MP to political history by prefixing his name with ‘Ex’. And if the unrestrained energy and resolve I witnessed today in the vast ocean of people at the Rana Sankalp Sabha is any indication, Cooch Behar will lead the charge to completely rout BJP from Bengal in 2026.

The Bangla-Birodhi Zamindars have understood the power of the Gonodebota. That very fear explains their desperation. It explains why NRC notices are being sent from Assam, why our language and culture are repeatedly insulted, why Bengalis are treated as outsiders in their own land, and why there is a concerted attempt to snatch away the constitutional right to vote.

These Bohiragotos who cannot even pronounce the name of Roy Saheb Thakur Panchanan Barma with respect, who harass and demean our Rajbanshi brothers and sisters, will be answered in the only language they seem to understand, the language of democratic resistance. Their pride, their arrogance, their hubris will be reduced to dust.

Mark my words. Those who have had the audacity to mark living voters as ‘dead’ and erase them from the electoral rolls will soon face their democratic funeral.

👉 Step 1: Hijack the Election Commission to conduct SIR, deleting legitimate voters en masse.

👉 Step 2: When that backfired, invent the “logical discrepancies” farce to forcibly erase names.

👉 Step 3: When even that flopped, sink to feudal and patriarchal barbarism by urging husbands to lock up their wives at home, so women empowered by Lakshmir Bhandar can’t step out to vote.

BJP has threatened to scrap Lakshmir Bhandar the day they seize power. They’ve sneered that Bengal’s Hindus “sell themselves” for a measly ₹500. They’ve branded direct aid to women as “ভিক্ষা”. And now they openly threaten women’s hard-won suffrage because their votes endanger BJP’s pathetic electoral chances?

In 2026, those very women you want caged will march to the polling booths in millions and bury your regressive, Bangla-Birodhi, Nari-Birodhi politics forever.

The servile Mr. Vanish Kumar is staging a Houdini act in Bengal. With a flick of the SIR wand, living voters are being erased from the electoral rolls as ‘dead.’ Without publishing any verified list, 91.46 lakh electors were abruptly tagged under the invented label of ‘logical discrepancy’ and are now being summoned for hearings, treated not as citizens, but as suspects. This figure was previously stated as 1.36 crore but has now been scaled down, because the ECI has no defined purpose, no direction, and no clarity. They’re simply executing BJP’s instructions.

In 2021 and 2024, BJP misled the people of Alipurduar, manipulating their trust and smothering their aspirations with promises that dissolved the moment ballots were counted. What followed was betrayal and abandonment. Today, at Majherdabri Tea Garden in Alipurduar, I met workers and families directly. I listened to their concerns and reassured them that we stand firmly with them.

Whether it is housing, drinking water, healthcare, roads, infrastructure, disaster relief, or their rightful demand for higher daily wages, our Maa-Mati-Manush Sarkaar has never failed to deliver. But the people of Alipurduar now face a defining choice. They must recognise who works for their rights and dignity, and who conspires to strip them away.

They must take a collective pledge that those who seek to silence Bengal’s democratic voice and rob our people of identity and representation will be resisted and held accountable. Those who attempt to diminish this state will be answered decisively by the people themselves.
