ASOIAF is his legacy, not these TV shows. Even then, if finishing the series no longer makes him happy, if he can't garden his way to an ending he's satisfied with, that will have to be okay too. I want GRRM to be healthy and happy above all else.
My heart aches for GRRM. I hope life swings back in a more positive direction for him soon. I honestly believe stepping away from being so involved in the TV side of things would help, as much as I want him to be. He's spread too thin & unfortunately "the ink is dry" with HBO
If he's not given the voice he should have in these productions, it isn't worth his mental health to keep fighting that battle. Not unless something changes with HBO. It probably won't.
Cutting Maelor took some of the dramatic weight out of the Blood & Cheese scene but otherwise it don't really matter that much in the grand scheme of things and it's a weird hill for GRRM to die on
Uh both I guess? They were hyped up for so long and dispatched in the most anti-climactic way possible, lmao. And they only had Arya do it randomly because SuBvErTiNg ExPeCtAtIoNs. It sucked!
@AmeliaMayAlcock I didn't think it made Daemon look disgusting. He was visibly horrified when he realizes what's happening. It was a display of Alys' powers and established pretty well just how much she was in his head and fucking with him.
Literally the only bad one in the bunch is the White Walker crap and that's ONLY because Game of Thrones botched it so badly that we don't want to be reminded of it. Otherwise it'd be an incredible tie-in.
@Nettlesbrown@Ivana2804 Right there with you. Only difference is I don't conflate Condal the guy with HBO the corp, didn't feel his blog was standing up to The Man but rather singling out one guy & laying it all at his feet. HBO the corporation is unscathed. I wish that's where he directed his ire tbh.
@Nettlesbrown@Ivana2804 Lol I can see this isn't productive and you're responding to arguments I'm not making, so I'm just gonna leave it here ❤️ it was good talking with you!
@Nettlesbrown@Ivana2804 He should have brought up the bigger issues, not the small ones, if he wanted to make this grand appeal. It's what I've been saying. GRRM had ample time to think about how to write that post and still, assumedly, willfully violated his contract with it lol. Over a small change.
