The tobacco industry today explored a new gas bulky curer, which supports sustainability goals with 50% reduced carbon emissions and low labor requirements. This coincides with Zimbabwe's gas discovery in Muzarabani.

5 years ago i got a good consulting project. I faced the usual hurdles where upon realizing it was us awarded the job some pushed for us not to get the assignment. After receiving the official notification confirming us as winners it took 4 weeks to get the contract signed. I was informed that some within the client system wanted to look for a technicality to disqualify us. They could not find any. We eventually signed the contract.

I assembled a team from our staff and associates consultants. It took us 6 weeks to complete the assignment. The contract had three payment phases. We got paid for the first two phases. After completing the last phase we made a presentation to the client and they were happy. CEO wrote to us thanking us for a job well done.

Unfortunately as we submitted our last invoice a new board came in. A member who had canceled our contract at another client( before we started the work) forced management to withhold the payment. The reason given was they wanted to check if the contract was awarded properly. I am told audit checked and found nothing amiss.

Up to now that payment has not been released. We followed up and it came to nothing.

On further investigation the general finding across similar experiences is that " He does not want to eat with others". Whatever that means.

I have told all my staff never to entertain a discussion where a potential client want us to pay to get the work.

We have suffered due to many similar incidences and we will not give up.

The terrain is rough.
