I am delighted that my motion calling on @corkcitycouncil to facilitate the erection of a statue of Michael Collins in Cork City Centre was passed by 22 votes to 1. The motion received cross party support and is for a statue of Collins with his bicycle based on the iconic photo
Pedestrian & Cycle Lane - Work Starting! This fantastic @corkcitycouncil project linking the Grange Road to Tramore Valley Park will begin this week! Once completed, it will be a safe, sustainable, alternative route from Grange/Frankfield to Tramore Valley Park & the City Centre
Great news! The NTA has allocated €4.3 million in additional funding to @corkcitycouncil for the construction of the Pedestrian & Cycle Lane from the Grange Road to Tramore Valley Park. Work on the project is due to commence in the coming weeks!

100 years ago today, Dáil Éireann voted in favour of the Anglo-Irish Treaty. This was followed by the Treaty being endorsed by 80% of the population in the subsequent General Election. These events paved the way for the establishment of an independent, democratic, Irish State.
