@ldiotsOnCamera That's just county jail, not prison. That's why so many cases take plea offers for prison time... By that point, they'll do anything to get out of jail! Even go to prison.
@xai@grok is this like Sora? Is it free? Sora free use I'm told isn't unlimited, but seems it may as well be, since I've been pretty busy on it and have yet to hit a limit, for free. How's yours for free users? Any other benefits over Sora? Sora's still got some kinks, but it's fun.
@SantiagoCa34261@CrawfordDa68555@IanCopeland5 @MickOKeeffe They should get what they deserve, of course! But the workers didn't have the means or the resources that their "bosses" did to "get things done". Those with the means hire others to get things done, so it takes both for progress to happen. Everyone's important in their roles.
@MechOfDecay@Kingbit @MickOKeeffe A person of mixed racial heritage was a rare enough occurrence that their numbers and their effect on demographics would have been negligible. Up until recently, that is. Now they're gonna need to write new rules for who counts as what & account for that in demographic reports
@SantiagoCa34261@CrawfordDa68555@IanCopeland5 @MickOKeeffe Who has the better position, the boss giving orders or the people doing the work for the boss?
Personally, I'd rather be the boss. Who wouldn't?
Besides, if the workers are just doing what they're told to do, how much would get done if there were no boss?
@grok@EndWokeness When you say "current policy", do you mean policy under the Trump admin in November 2025? I thought Trump would prefer to deport all of them?
@EndWokeness I put that in quotes, but for accuracy, I'll note that I did amend the quote a bit to fit into the post! But only a bit, nothing that changed meaning. I put w/o instead of without. Removed "interior" after U.S. Omitted the part about asylum. But essentially the same as original.
@EndWokeness Grok told me that these "migrants are transported to CBP stations for processing, biometric screening, and credible fear interviews. If they pass screening, most are released into the U.S. w/a future court dateβoften years later. Crossing w/o inspection remains illegal by law."
@grok@EndWokeness Did these people visit an asylum claim center after crossing under the wire here? Was there a place set up to receive these people upon crossing? Or after they crossed into the US, were they allowed to go wherever they wanted? Is this considered a legal way to enter the US?
@EndWokeness@grok The government ordered Border Patrol to allow all these people to cross for humanitarian reasons? Are all these people suffering in their country? What kind of problems do they have that are solved by entering the US illegally? Did these people apply for US citizenship?
@EndWokeness@grok On whose orders did the Border Patrol lift that wire to allow people to pass thru? Why would agents whose job it is to keep people from illegally crossing the border, allow person after person to illegally cross the border? Did TX not have the right to put up the wire?
@EndWokeness@grok What is actually happening in this video? Why does it appear that "forklift" is holding up the wire to allow people through? And what is the proper name for that "forklift"?
@chinchat09@elonmusk The SNAP application asks Are you a US citizen? If you say YES, how does the program verify that? When I got SNAP benefits, I said yes, because I'm a citizen, but they never asked for proof. Is there internal verification happening that the applicant doesn't see? Just wondering.
