I'd like to bounce off this post because it makes a lot of sense, but I want to clarify a few things.
Yeah, it's an old post, I just came across it.
I'm 30 years old, call me an unc if you want, but I'll explain the real issue that this "kid/young trader" generation has created.
I was one of the first people to constantly complain about the way they operate. Sure, some of them, including Clukz, are talented and use it to their advantage, but over the years this has simply destroyed the game.
- First of all, to everyone making a lot of money the right way, without stealing/hacking/etc, congrats.
- Secondly, CT is full of jealous people. That's nothing new. If people are jealous of you, GG, you're probably on the right path.
- Third, everyone has their own strategy to make money. If it works, you keep doing it. If it stops working, you adapt.
Now, here's the real issue:
The way the "trading youth" has been educated during 2024-2025-2026 is completely different from 5-6 years ago.
Streamers and content creators are teaching people to drill nonstop and play dirty as fuck, making it sound like that's the key to success.
In the end, we end up with virgin content creators, with virgin viewers, all coming in and ruining the game.
The biggest issue is that we see fewer and fewer charts like we used to: the ones that were green and kept grinding higher over time.
We've entered an era where every green candle instantly gets swallowed by an army of young destroyers (and there are so many of them) trying to grab tiny crumbs while nuking decent narratives left and right.
Not even mentioning the endless rugs, scams, drains and nonstop vamping (and yes, most of the people behind these coins are kids).
Sure, some will say: "Who cares? We're making money."
Well, that's also part of the problem.
People don't care about their reputation anymore, and the space is so small that it'll eventually come back to haunt them IRL.
There's no respect left, and the level of immaturity is so obvious that it's pushing the uncs away.
Memecoin education within the trenches has completely failed at this point, and unfortunately that's only bad for the entire blockchain ecosystem, especially during a bear market.
That being said, anyone can still find their edge in any market, capitalize on certain trends, and make money, but we're talking about an extreme minority now, and that's the difference.
A few years ago, a much larger percentage of traders were profitable.
Today, it's a completely different story because some people want to eat the entire cake, even if it means destroying everything in the process.
PS: This isn't ragebait — I made it this bull run.
a cult is only a cult when its members’ whole identities revolve around it
there’s no better measure of this than the adoption of the meme in pfps
the reason: adopters effectively stake their reputation for very little (short-term) gain
Michi and wDOG stand out here imo
