"The Restaurant of Mistaken Orders" was created to spread awareness about dementia and to encourage a more open-minded and relaxed society.

The founder, Shiro Oguni, started this project to challenge the public's perception of dementia and to provide opportunities for those living with the condition to engage with the community. The restaurant has received various awards and accolades for its creative approach and positive impact, including a Silver Lion at the Cannes Lions 2019 in the Design category.

Only about 37% of orders are incorrect, but when they are, it becomes an opportunity for patrons to connect with the staff and embrace the concept of kintsugi, which is about finding beauty in imperfections.
