During our meeting with Tian Chunlong, General Director of the Commercial Vehicles Department at BYD (@BYDGlobal), we explored new opportunities for partnership with #Azerbaijan, focusing on knowledge-sharing and capacity-building. We underscored the importance of #invest-ing in new production areas to strengthen the value-added chain, and reviewed the progress of the electric bus localization project in the Sumgait Industrial Park, along with the objectives set for the coming period.

We’re gearing up to launch our flagship BYD showroom in about a year — but the journey’s already begun with sales from our temporary location.

It’s a full-circle moment for me personally:
My first visit to BYD was back in 2009 and by 2011 we had already begun selling their early diesel and petrol models.
Now we’re back — fully electric, fully committed.

@electrifyazerbaijan operating under @SardaGroup_ participated in the China-Azerbaijan Industry and Investment Cooperation Promotion Conference held in Beijing.
As BYD’s official local representative, the company is preparing to launch joint production at the Azerbaijan Energy Automotive Factory (AEAF) by 2025 aiming to significantly increase the localization of electric buses and spare parts by 2030.
In 2024, as a result of this growing partnership, Electrify Azerbaijan introduced 160 BYD-branded electric buses, now fully operational across the country’s public transportation routes.

Electrify Azerbaijan under @SardaGroup_ with our partners from @BYDGlobal organized a special educational excursion for students of the Vocational Education Center to the Zigh Electric Bus Park.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the electric bus production process, explore their technical specifications, and observe various stages of operation at the facility. In addition to theoretical presentations, students also participated in brief hands-on training sessions, allowing them to experience a real-world production environment.
This initiative is designed to enhance the technical competencies of young professionals and foster greater interest in sustainable and green technologies across Azerbaijan.
