NEO skills are going to be critical as it's expected that tens of thousands of evacuees will flee south the Philippines from Taiwan if China invades. Hopefully those communist bastards won't try murdering them while they sail from Taiwan to the Batanes Island Group, but I expect that to happen too

The Force Reconnaissance Regiment (FRR), Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) led a series of Special Operations Forces (SOF) training activities during Exercise KAMANDAG 10-2026 in Ternate, Cavite, on June 22, 2026.
The training brought together operators from the PMC’s, Republic of Korea Marine Corps (ROKMC), Philippine Coast Guard Special Operations Force (PCG-SOF), Philippine National Police Maritime Group (PNP-MG), and Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF). Observers from Canada, Spain, and Thailand also witnessed the activity, highlighting the multinational character of the exercise and the shared commitment of participating nations to regional security and cooperation.
A key highlight of the training was the Boat Raid Exercise, which showcased coordinated sea-to-shore operations and validated the readiness and operational capabilities of participating SOF units. PMC water assets supported the activity, while integrated Scout Sniper teams provided reconnaissance, overwatch, and precision support, enhancing situational awareness and tactical effectiveness throughout the mission. Participating forces also conducted Close Quarters Battle (CQB) drills, demonstrating proficiency in room-clearing procedures, close-range engagements, and coordinated tactical movement.
Through realistic and integrated training, Exercise KAMANDAG 10-2026 continues to strengthen partnerships, improve interoperability, and enhance the collective readiness of allied and partner forces to respond effectively to evolving security challenges in support of regional security, stability, and a free and open Indo-Pacific.

@Talon_Haribon Since EDCA is in full swing it would be wise for the PAF to negotiate with LM in setting up an MRO in Cebu since it's the home of the 220th Tactical Airlift Wing.
Philippines has its eyes on the L-39NG for a while. An ASEAN country sounds more like them.

@Drethegrater PAF should learn the mistakes from the Navy to not put all of their assets in just one area because it would be an easy target. Instead disperse them in some bases like ABAB because of it's close proximity in the WPS and make it as the home of the 7th TFS.
Years back, the then Naval Air Wing announced its capability enhancement projects for the coming years. As of date, the ff. have moved forward:
- Additional 6 AW-159 ASW
- Flight & Tactical Simulator
So far, the PN has yet to disclose updates regarding the other projects.
@PhilippMonitor Asides from Basa Air Base it appears that Benito Ebuen Air Base is also an infrastructure development as well probably to accommodate the additional Black Hawks and upcoming C130Js. CTTO: Google Maps
