@VigilantFox Yes, there are complex factors involved in Alzheimer's disease (AD), but the root cause is the diet. Like with all metabolic disease, AD can be reversed with a whole foods diet, no ultra processed food, and no added sugars.
The federal trial has been rescheduled for jury selection on January 5, 2027, with opening statements on January 25, 2027.
This delay (finalized in a June 29, 2026, federal court hearing) stems primarily from scheduling conflicts with Mangione’s separate New York state murder trial, which is set to begin on September 8, 2026.
My poor heart bleeds for the injustice done to these poor, underprivileged souls. We need congressional action. Oh wait. Congress doesn't act. They just squabble. That said, nobody forces these guys into this system. They fight for all they're worth to get in. They knew this was the system they were buying in to.
@calleymeans Growing and distributing our food for the convenience and profit of the manufacturer has been a human health disaster. It's time to start producing our food to the benefit of the human race.

This is the first time in history that regenerative agriculture a centerpiece of an administration’s ag strategy.
This EO also calls on the EPA to focus on reviewing pre-harvest desiccation, a process where food is sprayed on a crop shortly before harvest - and which contributes significantly to human exposure.
Many farmers have shifted to regenerative practices which have enabled them to produce food with significantly lower chemical inputs and HIGHER profit per acre. There is a significant movement to these practices which is being embraced by farmers large and small.
While ensuring farmers who have played by the rules of our current system have stability in the short term, there has been significant dialogue about the urgent need to build a bridge to the future. Farm states in the United States have the highest cancer rates in the world. American farmers have among the highest rates of cancer, autoimmune conditions, and Parkinson’s of any profession. A governor candidate in Iowa just won the Republican nomination by making the health concerns of farmers a central campaign theme. There’s no question there are structural concerns for farmers that are leading to a crisis of your people not entering the profession.
Regenerative agriculture is a crucial part of the solution towards the future, and it is a positive development that an administration is heralding this practice for the first time.
@VigilantFox Any diet that reduces carbs (and added sugars) will produce the same result. Sugar is the culprit. Whole foods are the cure, and healthy mitochondria is the goal.
Nutria, a non-native species from South America, cause significant ecological, economic, and infrastructure damage due to their behaviors. Economic losses have been estimated in the millions annually in affected areas, particularly along the US Gulf Coast. They disrupt ecosystems and increase flood risks.
@BarkingFrogger_ Well, that would explain the current condition of the global culture. If the most intelligent aren't having sex, then only the less intelligent are procreating. Not a great survival characteristic.
It's the same sad old story. Institutional dogma stifles scientific progress. We must wait until those invested in the dogma die for new thoughts to take hold. We must find a way to reward and encourage new thinkers. Our current academic construct, which is the same as our old one, does not fully support the innovators.
When I lived in Colorado, my back porch fronted a cow pasture. I would sit on the porch and play my guitar and sing to the cows. They loved the music and would stay as long as I kept playing. Sometimes I'd stand by the fence, and they'd all come over, not be fed but for some more music.
It's easy to develop an inexpensive product that's addictive and destructive to human health. It's not so easy to develop one that tastes good and promotes human health. If product developers don't have ethical concerns for the well being of humanity, then what's to stop them? It's illegal to sell addivctive drugs like methamphetamine or heroin but not to sell addictive food products. They both result in the disruption of social and physical health at great cost to all of us. I'm not saying that we should make them illegal, but sugary snacks should be treated with the same disdain and educational force as illegal drugs.
