@EmilyRNunn Yes, snap off the woody ends and peel from the tip. They are delicious chilled too, but since their flavor is subtle, room temp is better imho. Good with chervil, lemon, even prosciutto.
@EmilyRNunn Grew to love them in Europe. Understated dark (white) horse of veg. Peel, cook in skillet with evoo, butter, lemon juice, then drizzle with more lemon.
