I do not feel comfortable to say a word in defense of Trump's actions, but he should not be blamed for killing NATO. He has buried it, but the alliance effectively died when Obama in 2014 and, especially, Biden in 2022 refused to unleash its power to stop naked Russian aggression against free Europe -- the only purpose this organization was formed for back in 1949.
I cringe every time I hear "Ukraine and russia exchanged attacks overnight."
Ukraine strikes military targets. russia strikes apartment buildings, hospitals, and civilians.
These are not equivalent actions. And they should not be reported as if they are.
Russia has a long history of manipulating negotiations to strengthen its position. Kyiv & its allies will need the utmost vigilance to avoid a badly designed ceasefire that unduly benefits russia & further imperils the security of Ukraine & Europe

Logistics nightmare for russia in occupied southern Ukraine continue
Mariupol port no longer operational after Ukrainian strikes

Every new sanctions package against Russia is welcome, but every time you wonder why it wasn’t put into effect immediately four years ago, or 12 years ago. Deterrence is based on overwhelming response, not incremental tweaks.
This is @shield_of51848’s secret weapon at the rallies. Karolina sings & everyone stops to watch. Her family escaped Mariupol in the early days of the full scale invasion. Here she sings Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall, lyrics changed by @u3zubmusic (IG handle).
NB8 (Nordic-Baltic countries) is emerging as a new powerhouse within the Western allied space. The meeting of heads of government held today in Tallinn marked a new chapter in the cooperation of eight like-minded and strong democracies. An integral part of this is the defence of Ukraine’s sovereignty. The presence of the President of Ukraine at the meeting was highly significant. 🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹🇫🇮🇳🇴🇮🇸🇸🇪🇩🇰🇺🇦
@PremierRP@donaldtusk I’d suggest Poland gov stop pressuring Ukraine while it fights an existential war against the common enemy & postpone emotional grievances over past events untill after 🇺🇦 withstands russia’s genocidal assault. Ukraine has grievances of its own. Leave those to historians
Acc to Bulgaria’s new gov, helping Ukraine to defend itself leads to more human losses 💩
With members like this (& many others), how could the EU contemplate a defence union??
Bulgaria will no longer provide weapons to Ukraine, according to the country’s defense minister.
“Ukraine needs more people, not more weapons. It has enough weapons already, so we do not foresee sending additional arms to the Ukrainian military. We are witnessing a positional war, and regardless of how many weapons are accumulated, the only result is more human lives lost,” said Minister Stoyanov.
He added that the time has come to sit down at the negotiating table and seek a “just peace” to be determined by the two sides involved in the war.
An interesting take, considering one side is trying to erase the other from the map.
FULL SPEECH! 👇
@USUN's Dan Negrea: "We call on all UN Member States to immediately cease support for Russia’s war effort as there is no military solution to this war."
"That includes Iran, which has supplied UAVs to Russia for use in Ukraine, and Cuba, which is prolonging the war by allowing thousands of mercenaries to fight on Russia’s behalf."
Russian forces are abandoning their coastline positions on the Kinburn Spit after Ukraine’s forces disrupted key supply routes 👍
The Spit is a vital shipping access to major Ukrainian ports of Mykolaiv & Kherson

Podejmując takie pochopne decyzje trzeba pamiętać, że gdyby Ukraina nie zatrzymała Putina i wojna była już w Polsce, to mój wnuk i syn prez. Nawrockiego walczyliby już na froncie.
What happens when an ammunition warehouse blows up.
Footage from Russia’s Belgorod region on the Ukrainian border this morning. All this stuff won’t kill Ukrainian civilians anymore.
⚡️ Russia rejects Ukrainian, European peace initiatives, says battlefield will decide war.
"I don't know how we can even talk about negotiations," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

Today, Zelenskyy, Starmer, Macron, and Merz meet in London. The format itself is worth welcoming, even if the EU has once again been left on the sidelines.
The real question is what mindset the E3 brings to the table.
Zelenskyy set the tone with his open letter to Putin. While his European partners likely share its substance, they are unlikely to be ready to openly put their signatures beneath it.
But they do see that Russia is not looking for middle ground. It is set on war. Seeking a balanced compromise with an aggressor committed to conquest is not diplomacy. It is self-deception.
The predecessors of today’s leaders understood this well.
Symbolically, eighty-five years ago, London hosted another gathering. In June 1941, representatives of fourteen Allied governments and liberation movements met there to unite against Nazism.
The final London Declaration was not about ending a war. It was about uniting those willing to win it and shape the peace that followed.
One can only hope today’s meeting is guided by the same logic.
Europe’s prosperity depends on its security. Europe’s security depends on Ukraine. It is time to turn that truth into effective policy. And fast.
Today, russia launched a drone strike against one of the buildings of Ukraine's Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF).
The strike caused partial damage to the building and triggered a fire, which has since been extinguished.
An attack on a spent nuclear fuel storage facility constitutes an unprecedented threat to nuclear and radiation safety. Such actions create risks to critical systems essential for the safe storage of nuclear materials and represent a blatant violation of international law, the principles of nuclear safety, and the @IAEA fundamental safety principles.
@MinEnergy_ua calls on the International Atomic Energy Agency to respond immediately to this latest act of russian nuclear terrorism, dispatch a mission to document the consequences of the attack, and provide an objective international assessment of this act of russian nuclear terrorism. @rafaelmgrossi
