🚨 José Mourinho on Argentina vs. Egypt:
“This is daylight robbery. It’s a shame what football is becoming. How do you let the play continue, allow the goal to be scored, and only then decide to go back and cancel it? If there was a foul, stop the game immediately. Don’t wait until after the goal.
Then I ask another question—why wasn’t Argentina’s first goal reviewed with the same attention when it looked very close to offside? Why was every incident involving Argentina checked, while Egypt didn’t seem to get the same treatment?
VAR is supposed to bring fairness, not confusion. Today, it looked like every important decision went in Argentina’s favour. Football deserves better.”
🚨 BREAKING:
A controversial referee decision from FIFA!
FIFA formed the refereeing team for the France-Morocco quarter-final entirely from Argentine officials.
Don't bother this much, just give the trophy to Messi and don't tire anyone out...
JUST IN: Terrifying CCTV footage shows a massive landslide striking a tunnel construction site near Meppady, Wayanad district, Kerala, India.
Three people are reported dead, while six have been rescued. Multiple others are feared trapped as rescue operations continue.
What happened today is a shame of sports ethic. The credibility of competition rules is crucial, especially at World Championships. If the impression arises that a president is receiving special treatment, confidence in the association’s independence suffers.
🚨⚠️ FIFA president Gianni Infatino clarifies his position on Folarin Balogun red card.
“I have seen the public comments regarding the decision of the independent FIFA Disciplinary Committee related to the suspension of Folarin Balogun, and I would like to reiterate a fundamental principle of FIFA’s governance.
“FIFA’s judicial bodies are independent. They operate autonomously, apply the FIFA Disciplinary Code, and decide cases based on the applicable regulations and the specific facts before them. Their independence is essential to the credibility and integrity of football, and this must always be respected.
“Yes, I regularly discuss matters related to the FIFA World Cup with the President of the United States, and on this matter, I did receive a call from President Donald Trump, just as I receive calls from heads of state, government officials, football stakeholders and business executives from around the world on many different issues. During our conversation, I explained that there was an ongoing legal process involving FIFA’s independent judicial bodies and that the case would be decided in due course by the competent bodies. That is how FIFA’s system works, and it is a principle that I will always uphold.
“I read the decisions of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee when they are issued. Sometimes I am surprised by them. Sometimes I agree with them, and sometimes I disagree.
“What I always do, however, is respect those decisions and the autonomy of the bodies that make them. Whether we personally like a decision or not is irrelevant. Respect for independent institutions and the rule of law is what protects the integrity of our competitions and the credibility of FIFA at all times.”
The US receiving a get-out-of-jail-free card for their top scorer confirms everything we suspected from the start.
From the constant harassment of the Iranian team to the endless contrived VAR reversals, it’s the most blatantly corrupt World Cup in decades.
Congrats, I guess 🇺🇸
Belgium is furious over FIFA’s decision to overturn the suspension of US striker Folarin Balogun
Belgium head coach Rudi Garcia compared the ruling to an April Fools’ joke.
“I didn’t know that July 5 at FIFA was the equivalent of April 1. Our federation is not defending itself or the national team. It is defending football, its integrity, and its ethics,” Garcia said at a press conference.
The Belgian Football Federation also reacted strongly, saying it was “shocked” by the decision.
The federation pointed out that under FIFA regulations, a red card carries an automatic one-match suspension, and that suspending the ban contradicts the organization’s own rules. Belgian officials added that they are “considering all possible avenues of appeal.”

In the main hospital in Freiburg temperatures are reaching 38°/100.4°. Patients are lying in their beds naked, bathed in sweat. The hospital has convened an emergency task force for the first time in its history. Because it's located in an old building, the emergency room is not air-conditioned. Even the new buildings aren't completely air-conditioned.
One doctor complained that the problem has been evident at least since the 2003 heat wave, but nothing is ever done: "How can it be we're surprised every summer?"
