I’m incredibly honored and humbled to be named @CoastalBaseball’s head coach. This opportunity means a great deal to my family and me. Our staff is going to put together a roster quickly that will make you proud, Teal Nation.
The work begins!

I wanted to give an update and have you hear it from me.
On November 19th, I had an awake craniotomy at OU Health with Dr. Ian Dunn, and I’m grateful to say the surgery was successful.
I lost my speech for a couple of days afterward. That’s why I am just now getting this out. Those were some of the scariest moments of my life. But I’m back on track, speaking, fighting, and ready to push forward.
The second photo is a selfie I took while awake during surgery. Ryan Sharp inspired me to take this. I’m so lucky I have found him for this process. He and his family have been a beacon throughout this journey, and their guidance and support have meant the world.
To everyone who has prayed, messaged, donated, or shown love, thank you so much. The support from my family, friends, teammates, the Gamecock family, the Rockies organization, and my girlfriend has carried me through some of the hardest days I’ve ever faced. I couldn’t do this without you guys. When my girlfriend asked, “Why you?” I told her: I was chosen to fight. This has been the hardest month of my life, and I know the road ahead won’t be easy. But I will not quit. I will fight every single day to get back to my life and my dreams.
One step at a time. One day at a time. I’m strong. I’m coming back. I can do this.
Thank you all for lifting me up. I can’t thank you enough. ❤️
After nearly a decade of covering the Gamecocks, my time on the beat has come to an end. I’m excited to share that I’ve accepted a new position at Coastal Carolina as their Associate Athletic Director for Communications and Media.
Having the opportunity to work with Athletic Director Chance Miller (@cmiller05) was one I couldn’t turn down, especially after hearing the vision he has in this ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics.
To Gamecock Nation — THANK YOU! Even though I’ll always consider myself a guest in YOUR state, you have welcomed this Yankee. I’ll be forever grateful, and that will never change. I mean, shoot... I’m about to marry a Gamecock, who I proposed to just a few months ago inside of Williams-Brice with the help of your head football coach, @CoachSBeamer. Not to mention, Gamecock Nation’s role in making “The Uva” a thing at @Bojangles.
To Teal Nation — I’m looking forward to meeting you and telling YOUR story in a new and exciting way soon.
While I’m grateful for this past year in Rhode Island, I’m excited to be moving back to South Carolina with my bride-to-be. We love the Palmetto State, and we can’t wait to be back home.
I have one final South Carolina story. It’s one that I’ve been working on for 18 months that will be published at a later time. When we’re given the green light, it’ll be shared on @GamecockCentral.
We got a box here from Charleston, South Carolina... It's the Citadel!
Did you know my old boss Al Davis used to coach here??
Thank you so much to Coach Drayton and @CitadelFootball for sending this! Let's go BULLDOGS!
Not a Cinderella story.
