In 1994, while visiting children’s hospitals in Budapest with Lisa Marie, Michael met little Béla Farkas — a sick 4-year-old orphan with a failing liver who was literally turning green. Doctors said he wouldn’t survive without a transplant.

Michael didn’t just feel bad… he took action. He said, “No matter what it takes, I’m not going to let this child die.” He had his team search worldwide for a donor liver, paid for the entire life-saving surgery through his Heal the World Foundation, and continued covering Béla’s medical care for over a decade.

He even returned in 1996 to see the healthy, smiling boy he helped save.

Michael visited hospitals and sick kids all over the world his whole life — quietly giving, loving, and healing. This is who he truly was.

Pure heart. Real humanitarian. Gone too soon, but his kindness lives on. ✨
